I got into an accident last night and I called it "minor" because I can still drive my car, bumper dropped but still attached, maybe around 3 inch drop.
Right side of the car got bend in, bumper definitely need to replace as there is a crack.

What price should I expect and can I get some recommendation of car workshop?
Malaysia eCommerce

We have Mxxah (ad based) and we have Lxxong (market place), at least these two are the biggest one.

But it's not new to us that these two site is going downhill,
Mxxah (no offense to our Malay friend) is mainly targeted to Bumi / Malays
Lxxong is full of con men and very sluggish interface.

I'm gonna be honest, I have this thought to "re-introduce" online shopping to Malaysian.
As you can see, Lxxong has lost their direction, they are mainly focusing on their banner selling (ads) and their interface is dead and boring. (Money runs the site, you have money you get featured)
Not at all giving the buyer a good experience.

I have a blueprint myself, I have been thinking how to improve this business.

eBay may be a huge competitors but let's face it, not everyone in Malaysia knows how to use it.

A great example of user friendly is Taobao, if you don't know chinese you might don't know about them but they are China largest online shopping site. IMO, they certainly beat ebay in terms of user friendly.

So what do you guys think? Is there still hope for a new eCommerce site to rise in Malaysia?

I wanna ask whether Air Asia have school holiday promotion every end of the year? Maybe from December to January.
I'm planning to go Phuket from 30th December to 4th January. (My birthday and might as well just celebrate New Year there)

Is it normal for them to have promotion in that period of time? Not too sure myself because been trapping myself in Malaysia for too long.. lol
So, frequent traveler, I need your help here

If there's no such thing I might as well just book now, two way under 400.

SSD not detected in BIOS. Urgent help!

Need some urgent help here,
Story :
I was surfing the web like I do normally and all of sudden I feel stuttering so I decided to restart my PC and guess what? Windows failed to boot, after several attempt (restarts) I thought the Windows file might be corrupted or what, so I put in the Windows CD and try repairing it, no luck too. So my last solution is to reinstall Windows. I reinstall Windows, and I can see the C: drive clearly written there as available, so I click on it and start the usual procedure. When it's installing I went downstair to have my dinner and when I'm done I came up and to see the monitor is blank (black screen)
So i restarted again, and I see this, "bootmgr not found" << something like that. I was guessing the SSD might have some problem and I got it right. I went into the BIOS and the SSD is not detected.

I immediately google the problem and saw the solution was to do power cycle.
More info google yourself.

I did everything (which consume 1 hour) and still no luck recovering it.

My SSD is a Crucial M4 256GB,
I might did the power cycle wrong, still redoing it now.
Any other people encounter this kinda problem before?

I'm very shocked with this because I thought SSD was suppose to be ultra reliable especially with Crucial which claim to be one of the most reliable SSD manufacturer.

[addedon]July 1, 2012, 10:51 pm[/addedon]the rig is only 1 week old !!

Is it okay for me to create a multi-display thread in hardware zone for members to discuss and exchange information for this particular technology?
I'd searched up and see none in hwzone that are focused on discussing the mentioned setup.

AMD eyefinity or Nvidia 3d surround, both will be in one thread

Hello, I need people with Eyefinity only to reply me on this!

I have 3 x u2312hm
My rig will be finished soon and the last thing I'm stuck with is the cables for my monitors.

I'm using a 7970

Which has
2 XDisplayPort
1 x HDMI
1 X DVI

Do I need Active Adapter (DVI-DP) or Passive will do?
The price difference are kind big considering it's cable only.

I googled about this and people have different answer, some claim to have it work with passive adapter while some don't and said they need active to get it work.

So..Active or Passive?

And can I run the setup like this?

LEFT MONITOR - DVI
MIDDLE MONITOR - ACTIVE/PASSIVE ADAPTER (DVI-DP)
RIGHT MONITOR - DVI-HDMI

I heard when you use one Display Port then 2nd display port won't work anymore? or something like that.
Please people with experience setting Eyefinity up please help as this is my first attemp on Eyefinity.

Where to place my subwoofer for 5.1

I'm using a EDIFIER DA5000 (NOT PRO) 5.1 SPEAKER

Ok, so here's my room layout.

The left side is my PC area, right box is my bed (you can ignore that)

Top box with two side blue box is my table with its stand. Under the table of course.
Green are my satellites.
Red is my rig under the table.
The smaller black box is my chair.
The Purple/deep blue line/wire is my power socket / extensions.
The two green behind are my rear speakers.

No sub woofer is drawn here because I need you to help me, where should I place it?
I don't want to block the rig view/airflow.
I kinda left with one option which is place the sub on my left which is around the power socket. The sub will be facing towards my chair from left. Will it in anyway affect the performance of it?

Note: I will not want to change my room layout because there is no more way I can find room to place my rear speakers except with this layout.
You can download the picture and reupload it with the sub woofer drawn on it, or you can also simply type it out here.
Thank you in advanced!

Playing 5.1 movie

I have a Edifier DA5000, the thing is I never really fully utilize the speaker capability.

Reason is :
1.) I DON'T have sound card, been using on-board audio all this while.
2.) Can downloaded movie play in 5.1 sound? How do I do that?
3.) I want to replace the speaker cable (the one connecting woofer-satellite) Maybe a decent one, I screwed up the old one. Potong here and there now changing layout end up not enough What brand and what's the exact name of the cable?

Note: I'll be getting the Asus Xonar DX, on board 5.1 sucks to the max. Been googling this issue and most people can't get the 5.1 work properly with Realtek audio driver (on-board audio).

Really have no clue for sound system but bought this 5.1 long time ago and now kinda regret it, no point selling it since the value now is really close to none. Not planning to get a new speaker, gonna try out all solution if it still doesn't work out well only I'll consider getting the Corsair SP2500 2.1

Sound sifus please help !

Would like to try Linux

Hi people, I'm actually been a Windows user for a very very long time (well like most of the people)
Well recently I did some reading and heard the Ubuntu 12.04 is really good.

QUOTE

1. From what I research myself, Linux is a term / genre of the open-source OS right?

2. What are the other OS beside Ubuntu ?

3. How is Linux better than Windows?

4. I play a lot of game and uses software like 3DS Max, AutoCAD, Adobe PS, IL. So is it a good idea to use Linux?

5. Do you dual boot? Is it troublesome?

Dead video card? Bake it like a Pizza!

Not sure if anyone had heard/tried this before, recently I found this very interesting topic in an US forum.

QUOTE

I was skeptical about all the baking of dead video cards I keep seeing. So I picked up the 8800GTX xman sent me (It was artifacting really bad and would blue screen.) and began dissembling the card. 5 minutes later I popped the card in the oven @ 385F for 10 minutes gpu side up. I let it cool and then reassembled the card. Let me tell you I was a happy camper when I booted the pc and found the card was working 100% and at a much lower temp. 75 to 80c before baking and 40c after. Well since the card worked with the air cooler I figured I would just see if I could keep it working and put the water block on it that DB sent me. Well it still works and its now idling at 29c and I am smiling.

SOS : http://www.realredraider.com/vbulletin/sho...ead.php?t=39955

Anyone wanna try ??
