Spam calls from international numbers since Dec

Hi forum members,

Need some advice.

Since Dec 5, I have been receiving highly suspicious calls almost daily from various numbers with various country codes. After I picked up, I only hear silence. I seldom call overseas and don't have many friends overseas. I suspect these numbers are spoofed and are part of a scam organisation.

I have already complained to MCMC and Digi but not much of action taken on their end except providing advice to self protect.

Can the source of these calls be unspoofed and investigated?

Are these numbers registered in the respective countries or the original number is masked ?

Why are the telcos and MCMC unable to do anything?

What I am trying to do now is block calls by country code. but I will not be able to receive any calls from the country I blocked. Is there any better way?

SI No	Name	Type	Number	Call Type	Time	Duration	Duration(Seconds)
1 +61290756195	Missed	1/10/2019 15:34	20s	20
2 +6626165982	Missed	1/10/2019 14:55	20s	20
3 +40213216045	Missed	1/10/2019 14:28	20s	20
4 +43153743744	Missed	1/10/2019 12:50	20s	20
6 +3227106340	Missed	1/10/2019 12:22	20s	20
7 +447537726794	Missed	1/10/2019 11:44	20s	20
8 +375172558808	Missed	1/10/2019 10:54	20s	20
9 +81352487572	Missed	1/10/2019 10:02	20s	20
17 +48223192207	Missed	1/7/2019 15:55	20s	20
18 +4723561843	Missed	1/7/2019 14:43	19s	19
21 +358201622199	Incoming	1/7/2019 12:58	0 sec	0
22 +6564083442	Missed	1/7/2019 12:15	20s	20
23 +41587794081	Missed	1/7/2019 11:35	20s	20
24 +38614065784	Missed	1/7/2019 11:08	20s	20
25 +442079743064	Missed	1/7/2019 10:35	20s	20
26 +61290782106	Missed	1/7/2019 9:23	20s	20
35 +12024558888	Incoming	12/29/2018 20:04	41s	41
39 +35722386551	Missed	12/28/2018 10:02	20s	20
53 +6281354995350	Missed	12/23/2018 15:18	19s	19
56 +0322411710000	Missed	12/22/2018 8:40	20s	20
65 +14694056556	Missed	12/19/2018 13:54	20s	20
66 +37052629634	Missed	12/19/2018 10:57	20s	20
67 +6493216402	Incoming	12/19/2018 10:26	0 sec	0
70 +4533246184	Missed	12/18/2018 15:38	20s	20
71 +35722114982	Incoming	12/18/2018 14:35	0 sec	0
72 +447537366990	Incoming	12/18/2018 9:29	0 sec	0
73 +447537198507	Incoming	12/17/2018 16:03	0 sec	0
74 +302106294814	Incoming	12/17/2018 15:28	0 sec	0
76 +43153197256	Incoming	12/17/2018 12:35	0 sec	0
81 +3524094662	Incoming	12/14/2018 15:39	0 sec	0
83 +447769509673	Incoming	12/14/2018 10:12	0 sec	0
103 +41587940969	Incoming	12/7/2018 21:00	0 sec	0
104 +3618766430	Outgoing	12/7/2018 17:23	0 sec	0
105 +3618766430	Incoming	12/7/2018 17:20	10s	10
115 +447737470316	Incoming	12/5/2018 12:03	13s	13

Bazi [metaphysics] - is it a reliable science

If you have heard of Bazi, a Chinese metaphysical science or art and have done some reading and exposed to it somewhat, like seminars or demonstrations, I would value your opinions or insights regarding this area.

Is it useful in making decisions in career, relationships, business? Is it accurate in describing a person's character?

warning letter

Hello, may those in the know or quite experienced with a similar issue can shed some light on this.

I am currently attached to a large corporation on Malaysia.

Recently I was given a show cause letter in March claiming that due to my negligence/failure to adhere to proper procedure, customer has made a complaint to management about his unhappiness about the delay of the resolution of the fault, which was the cause of the customer not being able to receive the acceptable service quality during that period. I am not the only person who was implicated, several others as well.

I had replied to the show cause letter within 3 days.

Not too long after that, about one week, I received a reply which is the first warning letter, stating that my explanation was unacceptable.

there was no formal meeting called between me and management. The only person I saw formally was from HR, which I was to acknowledge the letters.

I heard a meeting was held between my supervisor and various related parties without me attending it.

I was still not satisfied with the result, and went back to further analyse the case myself, and after 2 weeks I went back to management to request a meeting.

In the meeting, I brought up another point, which was not stated in the first explanation. This point was not so obvious and my supervisor also did not immediately realise this. The management said they will look into it. The last meeting took place two weeks ago. I asked my supervisor last wednesday on whether my explanation given for my dispute is approved, he said management approved it.

Until now there is no written letter given to me stating that the case is dropped against me or to revoke the warning letter.

Part of my salary of that month was deducted due to that warning letter and affects my KPI and chances of promotion as well. It will be a mark on my record in this company. I just want the warning letter revoked and KPI and pay restored.

The question that bothers me is:

1. What are the proper procedures for this type of case under the laws of Malaysia?

2. shouldn't there be a domestic inquiry?

3. Why are they taking so long to come up with a reply? are they dragging their feet?

4. Should I take this case to labour department or to industrial relations?

Thank you.

Are companies in Malaysia desirable to work in?

I'm not sure on whether a topic like this one has been posted before or not.

In a company there are different types of people in the company. And within a large company there are several departments or business units. Within a unit, there is a manager, and several subordinates.

In general, from most people i've heard stories that management level do not care to seek constructive feedback or from employees. It's a I Say You Do culture. I think only when staff get fed up and resign from the company that the company starts realising that it is good to listen to employees about certain things.

And if you really excel in your job, there will be always a ceiling position for you in the company, unless you move to another company. Some managers due to being in the position for some time are afraid that a young, brilliant, upstart like you will overtake him in promotion opportunities. Then your direct superior will try to be "creative". Call it politics if you will.

are career growth opportunities alive and well in malaysia? what I observe is more people are keen to play politics and protect their own turf, be a Yes man, be safe and be inconspicious than present opinions and suggestions which might be different, invite a lot of criticism, but will be beneficial to the company.

Especially when it is an employer's market and the economy is slow. There is not much profit growth in the company which means the managers will likely do what ever it takes to secure their position, even if it means politics. So those who are not so "politically inclined" will likely be "bullied"

Please feedback on whether what I am saying is happening in Malaysia or being very far from the truth. Are office politics similar in other countries as well.

I'm not trying to paint a bleak picture of working opportunities or companies in Malaysia.

DO you think companies in Malaysia are well managed and desirable to work in as compared to other countries?

Sorry if my post creates a very negative mood. Just for the sake of discussion.

Is there really shortage of engineers in Malaysia?

Hello,

I read this piece news in the star: -

http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=...2928&sec=nation

Govt will do utmost to address shortage of science talent: PM

KUALA LUMPUR: To address the shortage of scientific talent in the country, the Government will do whatever it takes and provide financial support for university research, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

He said Malaysia needed more scientists, researchers, innovators and pioneers in the science and technology sector.

“In terms of manpower, to date, Malaysia has only achieved 18% of the Ninth Malaysia Plan which targets to have 60 researchers, scientists and engineers for every 10,000 people in the workforce.

and yesterday: -

http://www.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?f...1816&sec=nation

700 Dell workers to lose jobs
By DAVID TAN

GEORGE TOWN: Dell Malaysia is letting some 700 workers go via a voluntary separation scheme (VSS) exercise.

The 700 include those in the operator, supervisory and managerial positions at its Bukit Minyak plant here.

Dell corporate communication senior manager Jasmine Begum said the VSS scheme was being implemented because Dell was transferring the division that manufactured notebooks for Latin America, Canada and US markets to the group’s global manufacturing network.

“Dell Malaysia will continue to hire for the procuring, financing, and supply chain planning departments,” she said.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My question is, is there really a shortage of engineers in Malaysia? I am an engineering graduate myself. If there is really a shortage, which are the areas, specializations or niches that face a lack of engineers? The manufacturing sector is volatile and I think Penang is losing or lost its attractiveness as a global manufacturing hub.

Take note that Dell is letting go those from the operator, supervisory and managerial positions and will continue to hire for the procuring, financing, and supply chain planning. My take is they are letting go a lot of those from engineering discipline. Is there anyone from Dell who can shed some light?

What is the direction of the government? Does Najib's statement point more towards university research and not so much on "engineers" per se?

AGP Texture Acceleration

Hi Guys,

I have a Dell Inspiron 640M laptop. I have installed a strategy game and have been loading and playing this game for a while. When I load the game there is a pop-up message saying that the system does not have AGP Texture Acceleration activated. I'm not sure whether this feature is available on my laptop.

When the game loads, the graphics resolution is adjusted to the game default settings. And when I exit the game, it reverts back to the original settings.

The first few times that I loaded this game this works fine but after about 10 times, it failed to revert to the original display resolution. However I try to adjust the settings using the display control panel, it doesn't go back.

Also I notice the fonts smoothing is not consistent on the screen. Some lines are smoothened and some are not.

Anyway to revert or reset the driver to the original settings? Please help. Thx
