Hi, just wondering....

anyone here listens of fancy country music?

I've always been a metal / rock fan growing up, feeding into those hype like Marilyn Manson, Korn, Limp Biskit, Soulfly, Sepultura and so on. I also enjoy some oldies from time to time

but as i grow towards my 40s, I hated the new songs after year 2000 as the lyrics dont really mean anything, or it just plainly makes no sense to me. (old uncle) hahaha

I started listening to country a few years ago and been stuck ever since. Their songs are like storytelling. lyrics are relatable and of course majority of country music are emotional meanings la.

Country has never been big here in Asia, let alone Malaysia. So i'm just wondering if there's any like minded people like me who enjoys country. perhaps I could share some artists here in whom i usually listen to.

What is Contentment

OK. Today's topic would be something more general. It's something that is so common that sometimes people tend to forget about it.

Do you not find it ironic that there's a lot of people who keeps telling each other to be contented with what they have? Yet they themselves rarely practice it?

On general, Contentment comes only to those who CHOOSE to be contented with what they have. Some people are so consumed with greed or their own goals that they tend to miss out the best thing that they have right now.

For example: Men or women always complains about their partners or their husband/wife on their bad points. They would say how much their other half does not understand them or does not treasure them. One way to look at it, it's true. BUT think about it this way: Whether you are in good of bad times, have your partner refused to stand by your side? Have they never been your shoulder to cry on? Have they never been your best friend in times of need?

I know I used to be a person who use to take relationships for granted. I am still learning let me assure you that I'm learning each and everyday to build up as a better person to my other half

Let's face it, NO ONE'S PERFECT! Never your partner, never your husband/wife, and NEVER will be you. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses.

In relationships, there is no such thing as YOU'RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME. Everyone in a relationship CAN and WILL find someone better than you. Your partner CAN and WILL be able to find someone better than you. There's always someone better than someone. So here's the truth...

IT IS HOW CONTENTED YOU ARE in the person you are with now. Everyone can be your MR. or MRS. right. Unless you learn to be contented with what you have now, no matter how many people you date with, they will never be good enough for you.

However speaking about professionalism, we as human these days, our generation, tends to jump from jobs to job. WHY? answer is pretty simple. It's mostly because they want to find a better pay job of a job with a better offer. Look at your parents, or your grandparents, the previous generations can actually stick to a job for over 20-30 years. They would not jump to another job. I'm not saying that there's no better opportunities for them in other companies, It's because they are contented with what they have. Yes they may complain that their job sucks or anything, but at the bottom line, they will stick to the job. Their loyalty is something we won't be able to get these days.

Why is it so?

Is it cause our generation now is so spoiled with choices till the extent we no longer recognize contentment anymore? Or is it mainly due to greed?

Put our parents in being in a relationship...

Divorce is so common these days unlike the older generations. How come our previous generations were able to keep a marriage for so many years but for us, some could even barely maintain a marriage for 3 years.

My honest opinion is mainly due to contentment.... again.... People are so greedy or really do not know how to see and recognize the good things that they have till they tend to go astray.

Let me tell you my story...I learned to be contented with what I have. Some may know what kind of person I used to be. I am somewhat ashamed of myself as well at certain times. But well, every curve is a learning curve right?

I finally learn to be contented with what I have, who I am with. I know that I can rely on this person with whatever trouble I am at. I know she would stand by me. And of course I would act the same on her behalf as well.

Yes in a relationship or marriage, couples do argue. If there's no arguments in a relationship, then you should be worried. Don't run away or break the relationship mainly coz you guys argued. Argument is something that would bind the relationship stronger. Don't give up on your partner. Maybe they have not given up on you yet. Why should you be the one to pull the plug? When you accept him/her to your life, you should be ready to accept that person for his/her goods and bads. Else why would you bother to begin a relationship let alone a marriage?

This is all I have to say now... Please consider what I have said and search for contentment in every situations. Sometimes, things may turn bad, but don't look at the bad points only, the good points are always in the thin silver lining.

Something to share - Doorways

I was having a drink with a friend last night and we were talking about life and how it goes round and round and round and round. There was this topic that I touched that reminded me of an aspect of life that we should get back to the basics.

Let's face it, in relationships, it comes and goes. Often it's due to us as mere human's fault that we tend to mess things up or complicate the whole bond between two people. There's lots of people or your friends would go around preaching to you on what you should do when you ARE in a relationship or BEFORE stepping into one. Yes indeed I must admit it's fun to go through a relationship with someone and it really changes your lifestyle.

Sweet is the feeling of waking up in the morning knowing you are loved and great is the acknowledgement to find out you have someone to care for.

BUT

When a relationship turns sour, when it finally leads to a dead end where there is no return. What would you do? Are these phrases below sound all too familiar too you?

- Don't worry, Be happy.
- There's plenty of fish in the sea. Why drown because of one fish?
- Be strong ok? If you need anything, just ask.
- He/She's not worth your time.
- Learn to let go.

Familiar Eh?

People just would end up absorbing their own sadness. They would resolve to self pity. I don't really understand why but in a way it's really bringing harm to themselves. Yes, we sometimes lose control over our own feelings but it is how we control our feelings that makes us a stronger person no?

Here's something different:

Let's illustrate relationships as DOORWAYS. In our life, we have different doors opening oppotunities of different kinds to us. Many a times we're too self absorbed in our own sadness when our relationship with someone ends and would caused us mourning in front of that closed door. Doors that are closed would rarely open again for a second chance. Face it, Life is cruel!

But have you thought of this? When a door is closed in front of you, there would be other doors of opportunities open for you to experience. But often as it is, Human would stay put focusing on that closed door and we would often miss out the other opened doors for us to experience. Who knows? You might actually miss out the right one for you. Right?

I'm not saying when your door is closed, start jumping and look for other doors immediately. It's good to stay at that closed door for a moment of time to reflect of your wrong doings (maybe) or theirs. Reflect back where had gone wrong and make improvements from there before you start seeking for a new door.

I have met with people who stayed on that closed door for years and years and refuse to budge. Give yourself a second chance. Everyone deserves it but it's just too normal that people refuse to give them. I made mistakes myself, I screwed up relationships myself. Does that mean I should be sentenced to deathrow because of my mistakes? Hey, I'm not an angel, I'm not perfect. Merely a human as it is I do make mistakes from time to time. Everyone's equal too.

So to close this entry, Give life a chance, Give LOVE a chance. Well, 2nd chances if need be. But do remember that we are mere human, and in throughout this life of yours, There will be lots and lots of people walking in and out of your life. Don't just fix your eye on one door when it closes. Keep a lookout. Some people may say that is called faithfulness. On a certain degree, I agree with you but not to an OVER faithfulness. That would lead to stupidity.

What does women mean when they expect equality.

Lets go back to history here, back in the past women used to be known as the 2nd class sex in human nature. the men usually dominates the household. women will stay home and be more or less a slave to the men.

Most women you see these days always preach and fight for equality. Now dont misunderstand me, I agree with equality. in fact i do encourage my gf or ex gf to always feel free to ask for equality. however one thing i dont understand:

lets say u live in with ur gf, or wife together. women these days may not know how to cook or do house chores like those in the past, it's perfectly fine though. they would require or request men to share those burden with you. it's normally fine if the women works and earns for the household together. and what if she is NOT working but merely stay home or go out with friends for afternoon tea or even to salons what what not.

when u come home from work, obviously u would expect them to do the chores or at least help out right?

what if they dont? more over, they expect u to do it or help out with it. it's usually fine right? coz u're sharing responsibilities.

but when it comes to heavier chores like electrical, woodwork or even piping work. normally men would fix it. but my experience, i asked to help with those chores, she would then say no way these are guy's stuff and u expect me to do it? i mean like c'mon just bring the ladder or pass me those tools needed.

so here's the deal...basically women wants to have equal rights or even the better half of the rights but when comes to down ground dirty work, it's still men's responsibility?

what's your view on this?

note: again, i have no problems with any of the above but just merely struck me...where's the equality only

I have just transfered to Dath'Remar from Rivendare joining a full time raiding guild.
