Fraudulent transactions through credit card

I have just received a call from Public Bank alerting me that my credit card has been compromised and that numerous fraudulent transactions had been attempted overseas in the past few days.

At first I thought it might be a scam and called the card centre number on the back of the card to verify the authenticity of the call.

It turned out to be genuine and according to the card centre, the hackers must have got my credit card details through one of my recent online transactions.

These are the following websites through which I had bought services or goods recently. I am not sure which is the most risky and susceptible to fraud attempts. Has anyone encountered the same experience through any of these websites? Please share.

1. Livingsocial

2. Groupon

3. Booking.com

4. Airasia

5. Book Depository
