bridge and PPPoE help

hey, i just joined this forum and i LOVE it...plenty of good guys here to help,so is my turn to help out tis time

look, i've seen plenty of topics and most of them regarding BT(slow, lag and etc) so now i'll decide to help out alittle

let's start with router/modem 1st, look router/modem is the 1st thing u wanna configure in order to boast the download speed....as for router, plenty of them by default is set to PPPoE mode, PPPoE has bulti-in firewall and NAT. this NAT and firewall will kind of block incoming traffics(as well as BT client) from entering your pc...so in order to solve tis question, port forwarding is the best option...

as for modem by default is set to brigde, bridge dont not have any NAT or firewall so BT client wont have a problem downloading stuff...but make sure u have a software firewall to protect yourself...

if you aint sure wat mode u r using, press START->"run" type in "cmd" and enter
enter "ipconfig", you will see you ip address there and copy tat ip address and paste it in your web broswer(IE or FF)...then is all up to u now, because there are plenty of brands out there and i cant point out one by one so you will just have to take ur time and look carefully...

ok hardware part done, software part, there are plenty of BT client out there such as bitcomet, azureus and etc etc...i dont care hell about wat client i'm using, is all the same is p2p technology. look the rule is simple in BT, you wanna download, you gonna upload...i've notice many ppl wanna download but dont wanna upload(is a bad habit) so tis is sort of unwritten rule tat exist in BT, you upload 1kb you download 3kb, so set the download speed and upload speed correctly...dont over upload as tis will slow down your download speed...

tat's all guys...hope you guys like it!!!i hope i can help you guys in the future!!!

p.s if u r using software firewall make sure the firewall is not blocking the BT client,k? and make sure you dont use windows firewall as windows will slow down BT download...use zonealarm!
