HELP: Changing SIM (overseas)

hello.

both me & my wife bought original Brightstar BB, no plans whatsoever; just phones. (Me: 9900, Wife: 9860)

- my wife went to Brunei, bought a local SIM so that she may use the local data services in order to be able to use BBM + Watsapp services.

- once she put in her new SIM, it prompted her to login. we both kind of forgotten what kind of username & its associated password thus she tried the login using the best username + password she can think of --> the BB didn't mention it was right or wrong but it started to "revert" the BB to original factory settings: all data (pics, msgs, vids) are lost

- until now she couldn't use the local SIM's data services with her BB but when using the SIM in other normal non-BB phones (Samsung smartphone), the data services works fine - she can use Watsapp, open youtube etc.

- I don't really know what happened since I'm not with her there so I don't know the details, but my main concern now is:

---> I'm going to Saudi Arabia this Saturday, & I plan to buy local SIM to so that I can use the BBM + Watsapp services while over there - using Celcom roaming + data service is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE.

-----> What should I KNOW AND DO when I get there this Saturday? Any protocols/steps should I follow in order to be able to use BBM / Watsapp services there using my 9900?

hi. i'm new 2 bb, just started playing with my wife's 9860. gonna get meself 9900 very soon.

question:
my wife's subscribed 2 celcom's 1+5 rm50 monthly, then after buying she got herself BB lite plan @ xtra rm38/month which comes with 300mb data. so, if connected 2 d internet using house Wi-Fi (i believe this is called "tethering"), will she still be using any of the 300mb data quota? r there any charges too? thanx!

bold 9900 vs torch 9810 vs torch 9860

hi. me & my wife r gonna shift 2 bb soon. my wife's getting d large screen 9860 while i'm torn between them 3, & also curve 9360.

from d info i read, all 3 (9900, 9810, 9860) shares d same processor & chipset; d only difference is in their RAM, ROM & onboard memory which r not significant anyway. so, besides d screen size & keypad/touch-screen interface, there're not much difference IMHO. so, y is their RRP: 9900 is rm2188, 9810 is rm1988 & 9860 is rm1588 when d cheapest 9860 has d largest screen followed by 9810 & finally 9900? it's like d bigger d screen, d cheaper it becomes? thank you!
