[Update] Dotabuff stats up!

https://dotabuff.com/pages/enabling-statistics

Copypasta for everyone:

Valve has taken the stance that all player statistics should be private by default. This means that Dotabuff only has access to your statistics when you manually enable it.
In order to enable statistics, please take the following steps:
Open the Dota 2 game client
Click the Settings icon
Navigate to "Game", then to "General"
Set the "Share Match History" setting to "On"

You may be on your merry way to continue being proud of your gold/plat status now. Again.

"Is he going to reconnect?"

I play in the SEA server, and DCs by players out of the blue are EXTREMELY frequent.

So there will always be people asking "your friend?" and/or "is he going to rc?" and let me just say this here: YOU ARE ENTIRELY STUPID IF YOU ASK THIS QUESTION. You are an idiot and you should just shut up.

This is why you are asking a stupid question:

1) 99% of the time, people in game are HAPPY to be in game. Why? Because THEY CAN ACTUALLY GET IN GAME. Lately it's been taking TOO DAMN LONG to find and GET into a single game; do you HONESTLY THINK that people will want to WILLINGLY DISCONNECT after successfully getting into a game?

2) Even IF the 1% disconnect on purpose because of whatever reasons they have, DO YOU HONESTLY THINK THAT WE WILL KNOW WHETHER HE WILL RECONNECT?

3) Assuming the person is in a party or a friend. Okay, it's a given we will have knowledge of whether he will want to reconnect, and 99% of the time, the person WILL WANT TO RECONNECT BECAUSE WHO THE f*** WANTS TO LEAVE A GAME THAT IS HARD TO GET TO BEGIN WITH. So YES, we KNOW the person will WANT to reconnect to the game, but whether he CAN RECONNECT or NOT is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ISSUE OUT OF OUR HANDS. It is dependent on whether Steam will troll him or not.

The SEA Servers have been SHIT for the past half year and it's only getting worse. I myself have a lot of abandoned games because even though I WANT TO RECONNECT, I CANNOT. EIther I get kicked out from Steam or Dota refuses to let me connect back, either giving an error or refusing to even let me go back into Dota after I've closed Dota and restarted Steam.

THIS IS NOT MY CHOICE.

And I know this is happening to A LOT OF PEOPLE. It's nobody's choice, really.

So really, STOP ASKING STUPID QUESTIONS LIKE "WILL HE RECONNECT" because tl;dr:

1) WE CANNOT SAY FOR SURE

What do we do in light of this shitty situation with the SEA servers? WE ALL BE GRACIOUS AND PATIENT PLAYERS. Either both sides come to a consensus on pausing the game for 5 minutes (5 minutes won't die one) or choose to continue and team members help the player lagging behind by helping them farm back up to speed when they rc.

YES it is frustrating when one player DCs. How do you think the DC'd player feels when he is playing and suddenly gets DC for no apparent reason? As much as it sucks on your side, bear in mind it is even worse for the dced player because he knows he is letting the team down and he has to be in a fluster to try to get reconnected back. Trust me, it is not a fun experience and it just ruins the mood.

ALL THESE DCs ARE NOT OUR CHOICE.

What is our choice, then?

To be patient, gracious and understanding members of the SEA Dota community.

That is all. Sekian, terima kasih.

Substitutes for Clinique's Moisture surge

Hi all, I have oily skin and have pretty much forgone using a moisturizer my whole life (on hindsight, very silly thing to do), and long story short, I've found that I can use Clinique's moisture surge (the orangey-gel thingy) and my face won't break out or get oily for the day. I am using Sasa's jewelry BB cream and i usually mix the two in my palm and apply to get some coverage on. I find it's a fantastic combination, but there's one problem.

the fricking moisturizer is like, RM 16X for a small 50 ml bottle and it's ridiculously expensive for something that's 90% water. Now, does anyone here have any recommendations for a similar moisturizer that is GEL BASED and does the job the same way it does? The main reason why i incorporated the moisturizer is because the bb cream is too thick so I experimented with using it and it works wonders for my complexion. My budget is below 40.

Much thanks in advance

What time?!?!!
5. the dinner will be in my room because i cant use the dining/living room as the house is shared (also, refer to pt 1) Do I leave my 2 mattresses on the floor as they are or shift them aside to make space in the middle for my foldable japanese table?
6. or do we eat on the floor?
7. air con on or off? if on, the room will smell. if off, might be warm. haiyoh malaysian weather.
8. do i scent the room with a spray or will it taint the food's aromas?
9.
Things to do with the boyfriend

Hey all, as above. The bf is coming back to stay with me for a few days and I want to do something memorable with him, preferably at home (reason for this is because we don't want to spend wasted time outside because of travelling time; also we want to be with each other in the privacy of my house as much as we can together). Off the top of my head, a candlelight dinner, singing a song together and recording it (we both like singing and can sing pretty well), but I want something that can be kept as a memento. Something we both can do together and see and keep and remind us of each other when we look at it. Kinda stumped at the moment. Any ideas?

We both are introverted nerds, gamers and geeks. (Yes, we are planning to play dota together, but that's not very special)

I already have something physically substantial planned out for him (handwriting him a letter that he can bring back with him). But I'm just clueless about what we can do together besides spending time cuddling and just being in each other's presence. I'm not one to appreciate useless gifts like teddy bears, bottles of hearts, roses, etc- and neither is he. We place more emphasis and appreciation for saying things that come from the heart.

Many thanks in advance.

edit: Things out of the question:

- couple rings (cliched, boring, and we are keeping this a secret from our families. No point keeping something bulky and which will invite unwanted questions from family members)
- watching a movie/going shopping (both on a budget; plus, it's in a public place, although there is the memento of the ticket stub+ we HATE shopping)
- NO paper cranes. For personal reasons. Cannot have anything to do with paper cranes.
- inb4 have sex and keep condoms

Where to find cheap and good night splint in KL

As above. I developed plantar fasciitis from bad footwork in muay thai and am currently manipulating an ACE bandage (a.k.a elastic bandage) as a temporary, makeshift night splint. Or does anyone have any solid ideas that don't require the use of plaster of paris?

Cat FOSTERING

Hi all,

I'm a student who loves cats and have always wanted to take care of one for a very long time. However, I am well aware of the long-term responsibility and I cannot guarantee a roof over the head of my pet because I'm staying away from my family in a different state, and when I finish my studies, I can't bring a pet back to my home.

Which is why I'm thinking of becoming a foster owner- it's something like fostering children. I don't want to adopt or buy a cat because I don't want to get too attached to it and then have to leave it when I move out of my current residence. I tried to google for providers of this charity in Malaysia, but apparently it doesn't exist.

Does anyone know of any organization in KL that provides such a service and are looking for volunteers/fosterers?

Many thanks in advance.
Bloody high pings to malaysian servers

Broadband provider
ISP/package: Streamyx 4mbps
Location: KL
Have you called your ISP's helpline?: Yes, and I spent 45 minutes talking to idiots who insist that there is nothing wrong on their side

Personal equipment
Modem: That stupid DLINK 2640B ADSL2+ lah
Router: Above
Firewall used: default windows

Modem info
Internet Connection Status:	Up
Mode:	ADSL2+
SNR Margin (dB):Down/Up	31.4/31.6
Attenuation (dB):Down/Up	21.0/10.2
Default Gateway:	219.93.218.177
Preferred DNS Server:	202.188.0.133
Alternate DNS Server:	202.188.1.5
Connection Up Time:	00 day,01 hour,29 min,11 sec
Downstream Line Rate (Kbps):	4092
Upstream Line Rate (Kbps):	509

Problem details
First occurence of problem: since start, about 2 months ago
Problem frequency: always
Problem description: I am facing extremely high latency on my games to TF2 servers (specifically, Lowyat.net servers which are based in AIMS KL. Previously when I was in Johor, my pings were low, around 20-30 ms and that's on the 2 mbps plan. One would expect that an upgraded line and the fact that I'm PHYSICALLY NEARER to the server would tremendously improve my gaming speeds, but no, in fact, it's about on average, 5 times WORSE, at about 150 ms. Calling 100, as usual, yielded zero results because those noobs on the other side can't do anything/can't be bothered to do anything to make things better. I am VERY CERTAIN it has NOTHING to do with the server I'm on- because compared to other overseas server like in the US (Ca), my pings on the 2 mbps line were at most 200, but now with this line it's > 400 on average.

I'm running Windows 7, my hardware config is more than adequate and I have no problems with my download speeds (which average 3.3-3.5mbps). Upload speeds are about 0.2mbps, which they did acknowledge was lower than usual.

I hung up the phone on their tech staff (sorry) because I was tired, pissed off and she didn't seem to know what the f*** she was talking about. Kept telling me to check my router (check for what, lah?!) and mumbled something about internal wiring. The heck! What am I supposed to look out for??

Anyway, all that aside, I know it's expected service from them, and I was just trying my luck anyway. Is there anything I can do on my side apart from using a vpn? I'm using google dns and i have steam ports forwarded already.

Any useful help will be much appreciated.
