iphone ram chip corrupted

Hi All,

I would like to find out if any of you that has come across a situation (like what I went thru).

I had an app update (JB-ed) on the 3GS, then the phone rebooted. There's only a white apple logo after you switch it on, then 5-10 seconds later, it goes dead.

I took it to the shop, and apparently, the chip on the motherboard is faulty. Any of you heard something similar that you could share your experience?

Apparently, repairs cost about RM300+

Which should I pick? a business type E66 which has nice stainless steel body but with short battery life or almost an Iphone type Nokia 5800 with a plastic body?
