Galaxy s2 G and non G

Hi , I'm a noob here. I'm wondering is it worth to get the s2 g version original with Samsung warranty or try to get an ap non g version ? Ermmm , does the g version really have a big disadvantage over the non g? I've read the difference on 10division. And can I root the g version ? Is there any substantial difference in te custom roms? Any users can share their experience with the g version ?
