Starbucks Store

Starbucks is undeniably one of Malaysian coffee lover hang out place. Just like McDonald's, its a place and brand name that we all familiar with. When we travel to other countries and cities, we always choose Starbucks store to rest and search for travel info using their wifi, its like an universal embassy.

I'm pretty sure that many of you had been to at least 5 stores located in the Klang Valley. Which stores are the best in terms of environment, service and coffees? As for me I like SS2 store for its environment and for service I think The Gardens one is the best. Although most stores provide up to standard beverages but taste vary for every stores. Personally, I think the fraps(java chips) at One U are lacking in flavor, they blend with too many ice and too little chips. I bought my fraps from there few times and it still taste the same.

Some baristas make really good coffee art on your caffe latte and some dont even bother to make one. The best one I've seen is from the Aeon Cheras Selatan, but the last time i went there, the barista was not there.

So which is your favourite Starbucks store?

It is natural for guys to check out beautiful girls on the streets, colleges, cafes, clubs and almost everywhere. Have you guys ever wondered how do gurls feel when a guy or maybe a bunch of guys looking at her as she walk past. Do they enjoy or hate the attention.
The guys I mean here are decent smart looking one, not those hamsup fella.

I notice hot sexy lady enjoy being looked at and some of them even look back at you straight to the eyes. Some gurls are confident enough to smile at you but no conversation.
Contrary to that, some aunty/nerdy/ah lian looking gurls will show you faces and quickly walk away.

Hey guys, how is the IT industry now in Malaysia? I wanted to work as web developer(not designer) as in developing applications that supports the operations of a company. I have skills in PHP and MySQL. Basic ASP.NET and java script knowledge.
If I wanted to work in this field, what other skills should I pick up and I wonder how much is the salary for this job.

Fluffy Poodle

Look at that fluffy poodle but hey, is that even a dog? More like a Pokemon character. It has a name, The Venezuelan Poodle Moth, yes a moth. Just by looking at the picture, I know you guys are wondering if it's real or photoshop.

It is real!!
Most moths can be easily identified when you look at them, however some have dazzling features that could make even the most well-trained eye do a double take. Then there is the Venezuelan Poodle Moth — a bizarre-looking creature covered with white fluffy hair, large black eyes and funky antennae protruding from the head.

When images of the newest discovery made it online a week ago, many cried foul, accusing that the image was doctored using Photoshop or some other image editing software. But lo and behold, the image is in fact real.

The image, taken by Dr. Arthur Anker from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, is just one of 75 photos taken from Gran Sabana National Park in Venezuela and appears in a collection on the scientists Flickr page. The photo was investigated by Dr. Karl Shuker, a zoologist, science writer, and cryptozoologist.

Among the photos, Shuker highlighted some of the most bedazzling finds on his blog, ShukerNature.

He said: “These photographs formed just one set of numerous spectacular images that Art has taken while visiting tropical rainforests and other exotic locations worldwide, and which he has placed in photosets on the Flickr website.”

The image of the Venezuelan Poodle Moth first surfaced in 2009 on Anker’s Flickr account. But there it remained, not getting any public attention until someone, who likened it to a Pokemon character, posted the image online, where it then took off like a rocket.

A colleague of Dr. Shuker investigated the moth and found it to be very similar in appearance to another documented species. Called the Muslin Moth (Diaphora mendica), this insect of the lepidopteran family Arctiidae resembles Anker’s moth very closely. However, unlike Anker’s moth, which was found in Venezuela, the Muslin moth is found in the Northern Hemisphere in the Russian Palearctic. And despite being eerily similar in appearance to the Poodle Moth, D. mendica is noticeably less fluffy.

Further investigation has yielded little findings. However, based on the fact that there are over 6000 Neotropical species within the Arctiidae moth family, it is very plausible that the Poodle Moth could be a close relation to the Muslin Moth.

Hey /k/! You visits LYN Kopitiam daily and it is one of your favorite space to rant about just anything. I'm sure many of you knows what "kopi" means as we Malaysian frequently use the word such in kopi-O license, duit kopi and minum kopi.
I was wondering do you guys actually knows what "tiam" means???

700-years later

A 700-years old mummy from China Ming Dynasty was found by road workers in Taizhou, Jiangsu Province. The mummy was so well preserved that you can still see her face, skin, eyelashes and hair. The mummy was found laying in a wooden coffin wearing traditional Ming Dynasty costume together with ceramics, ancient writings and other relics. It is such an incredible discoveries as it proof that the costume and hairstyles that we see in movies are not merely based on imaginations. The pictures are kinda creepy and you may risk being haunted since it's the Lunar 7th month aka Ghost month now.
