Session hang

Hi all.

7 years streamyx user here.

Since thursday, I was getting the session hang problem (error 691) everytime I tried to reconnect to streamyx. I had to call them up to cancel the session before I could reconnect. I had this kind problem occasionally in the past. But now, it happens everyday.

I changed the password. I create a new dialer just incase of corrupted dialer issue. None of these works. I am suspecting this might be the faulty of my 7 years old USB modem. But I don't know if buying a new modem would help to fix the problem. If new modem is not the solution, then my money will be wasted.

Does anyone face the same issue lately? I want to figure out whether the problem is on my side or the TM side.

Thanks.

Session Hanging

Broadband provider
ISP/package: Streamyx/1mb
Location: Ampang
Have you called your ISP's helpline?: Yes

Personal equipment
Modem: Artnet USB modem
Router: -
Firewall used: Windows

Problem details
First occurence of problem: Since last month
Problem frequency: everytime
Problem description: Session hanging

Hi guys. I am facing a very strange issue with my streamyx recently. Hopefully you can see this and provive some advices.

Since last month, everytime I was disconnecting, I have to wait for certain time before I was able to reconnect. For example, when I disconnect at 8:15, I have to wait until 8:30, then it could only be reconnected. If I diconnect at 9.35, I have to wait until 10.00. In other words, if I try to connect randomly, I would get error 691 (session hanging). I could only connect at X:00 & X:30.

I know it's weird. But I have checked all my system. No problem on my side. I have been using streamy for almost 3 years. I always disconnect in proper procedure. And my ID & password must be correct since I saved them into dialer. So I don't know why this could happen. Since this issue is happening systematically (can only be reconnect at X:00 and X:30), I suspected that TMnet is doing some restriction system on the reconnection. So I called the helpline. As I expected, they have no idea at all. I gave up, so I bear with it, and tried to not to reconnect as much as possible.

Until yesterday, the issue is getting worse. In the morning, I can't connect to internet. Everytime I try to connect (including the time at X:00 and X:30), there's error 691. I called the help line, cancelled the session. I thought problem is ended, but I was wrong. I disconnected at afternoon, and reconnected at evening. Again, error 691. Once again, called the helpline and cancel the hanging session.

Today morning, after woke up, as usual, I am logging to the internet. Guess what. Session hanging. I called the help lione again, and asked them why this could happen. It's been the 3rd time for these 2 days, it's getting annoying. But as i expected, they said they don't know what is the reason. Asked them whether the TMnet is having the session issue recently. They said no.

At this moment, I have no idea how to solve this. Looks like this session hanging is becoming a permanent issue for me. If this is keep happening all the time, that means whenever I want to connect, I have to call the helpline to cancel my previos hanging session. That would be ridiculous.

So is there anyone have experience on this? Is there any effective solution?

Thanks in advance.

Session always hang out

Hi guys. I need some helps & opinions from you all.

Recently, I got an issue with streamyx. Whenever I connect to internet, after I disconnect, I tried to connect again. But, there's many times I was getting error 691, saying my username & password is wrong. So I telephoned to TMnet customer service, and told them about the problem. Afterwards, we found out that actually my last session was hang out. That's why I can't get to connect since my previous session is still on although I have disconnected previously. So they have to delete my last session, so that I can dial up and connect to internet again.

However, it's been happened for few times in a day. Whenever I disconnect, i have to call them and tell them to cancel my session coz my session always hang out in these 2 days. To tell you the truth, just now I called them up again coz my session was hang out again. I asked the agent is there any solution for this, he said no. he told me to switch off the modem and restart the computer to see. If that's not helping, then I have to call them up and tell them to delete my last online session, before I am able to online

So, I guess I can't really expect some helps from them anymore. Does anyone in here has the same experience? Does anyone know how to prevent this "session hang out" poblem? It's starting to make me feel frustrated, and some more this issue has wasted my money for few calls to tmnet, in order to delete my previous session. If not, I will keep getting the error 691 and being not able to online.

Any advices and solutions are welcomed. Thanks in advance and thanks for concern.
