usb wifi adapter not working

i recently bought signalking usb wifi so tat i could receive more high signal from my wifi and i could connect to my router BUT could not access internet. i could PING and get reply from any web like google/facebook/etc but when i launched chrome, ie, firefox, and try to access any website, it stuck at "waiting for reply" at the status bar. btw, when im using the usb wifi, i disabled my laptop internal wifi.

when i unplugged the usb and connect with my laptop built-in wifi, everything is fine.

sifus, any idea?

btw, i am running on win xp on dell vostro 1400.

install windows without cd

guys, i need help badly here... i hv a laptop which is badly infected with trojans/etc n i would like to format n re-install windows. the prob is the cdrom of the laptop is not working anymore.

can i just copy a windows installation files to my d: drive n run the setup from there? the windows installation must not ask me to to insert CD or smthg like this...is tat possible?

is there any camera that could perform like fuji f30 at its class/range?

i just wanna know is there any decent cam that could perform well during low-light condition or indoor? of cos not comparing with canon g8/g9 or ricoh gr

after having tried g8 n gr2, i still prefer f30.

lets say im staying in a hotel room that provide wired internet access. so instead of connecting the network cable to my lappie, can i connect to wifi router so that i use my lappie anywhere in the room i want?

now i hv 2 notebook and 2 desktop in my network. 1 of the desktop act as storage/torrent. so i wan pc A only can access folder A on pc B. but i dont want other pc to access folder A. then pc B access folder B only. and so on.

i know i can only do like this with user permission set on the folder itself. but i cant add user on the network. only can add user from the same pc.

any idea ?

resizing win vista disk partition

i know vista allow us to resize our partition with its build-in disk management but only allow us to resize the partition to 50% of your total hdd size.

eg - 200gb, can only make disk a: 100gb and disk b: 100gb. cannot make disk a: 50gb and disk b: 150gb.

so how actually you guys with vista resize your hdd partition ? there are limited 3rd party disk partition software that could actually work.

im gonna have 2 laptop and 2 desktop, all wireless in my house. all 4 desktop/laptop is place around 20-30 meter radius in my house. i want all to get good reception for the internet and file sharing...

read that the g plus mimo is very wide coverage and fast speed...but the linksys also quite fast. both priced around the same...

which to get ah ??

Vista to XP Remote Access

im getting a new lappie which i opting for vista business (i think hv remote desktop connection) and then i will turn my desktop into a download/torrent pc. the desktop will move to other room n to be more convenient like check the downloads n etc, i think by accessing the pc remotely is better than physically go to the pc itself n do wat i want..

so the ques is, can vista remote connect to my xp pro ?

how to convince myselft to buy a cheap and useable laptop by today standard like those sub-2k or buy a decent/better/higher-than-average-end laptop like 3k?

things tat i do with laptop :
online - not-heavy photoshop - music editing (sony acid/adobe audition) - im not a gamer but might play game if hv dedicated GC

laptop tat im looking at :
hp compaq/acer (amd 1.8-2.0/intel 1.4-1.6/1gb/2gb ram/120-160 hdd/geforce go gc/integrated gc) - sub-2k/2.5k
dell vostro 1400 (intel 2.0ghz/2gb ram/250 hdd/nvidia 8400) - rm3k

i think if i buy 1.8k laptop also can do stuff i wanna do. but buy 3k, extra stuff i can do but not necessary. so how ah? stuck in between...

cons of vostro is i dont like the plain look n dont hv altec lansing speaker like compaq...hehe

but at the end, it is all about paying for wat u want n value-for-money. i really like hp laptop. i would buy if i hv the money
i consider b4 a hp laptop, almost 3k but the spec i think other brand can get for like less than 2.5k

msn caused pc to hang

it happen like 50% of the times if not all, my msn caused my pc to hang when i logged into my msn. sometimes after restart happen again and hv to restart again.

what could caused this? any idea? i get annoying and frustated whenever it hangs when i logged into msn
