I have conducted a small advertising network project to determine the viability of advertising network business model. On paper, the model looks solid, where the network earn by taking cut of the 30% commission from the advertiser and reselling the ad placement to publisher ad space. In reality, this method is quite flawed.

In the start of the project, 10 participants have joined in for advertising network project, have agreed to share the javascript code into their website to display the campaign ads. By using my website proprietary advertising network system, several display ads have launched with as little budget as possible.

In the outcome of the project, I have received 0 conversion out from the campaign, let alone of the “clicks” counted. Yes! 487 “clicks”, with absolutely ZERO conversion.

university professor suck at teaching?

is it me or my university "professor" suck at teaching?

here is the problem, university logic: phd researcher == glorified lecturer

oh my god, they cant even teach properly, somemore its from one of the top ranked research uni in malaysia, i dont want to tell the name, buat malu saja

thought that my smk high school teacher cant teach well, not actually bad, just average, now come into seem to be "reputable" public uni in malaysia and found out someone teach worst than my high school teacher. not all "professors" suck at teaching, but to my experience, more than half of them just cant teach properly

so going to class with this professor XYZ for 2 hours lecture on one of the 4th year engineering subject :

1. sit infront of the computer read slide
2. write some questions on the white board
3. walk around the class, and shoot these student who don't understand how to do the question : "Why are you sleeping in class?"
4. write the final answer on the white board
5. repeat few more question with similar style until 2 hours class finish

okay great, don't understand what this "professor" teaching at class, go back try read his slide, all theory, the most important example are left empty, no way to check back the right answer. for us students, has no choice but to seek knowledge from other sources like youtube or google to actually learn back the syllabus properly

for now the best way to learn : youtube,google,wikipedia

hope that university upload their lecture video instead of forcing everyone go to class just to waste everyones time
