Am getting a HDMI cable for the FHD LCD TV I just purchased - but before that I want to purchase a reasonably priced and good quality Svideo cable for my ASTRO viewing (seems the decoder has S-video but no component outputs (am I wrong) - seen some in the chain stores - they cost more than RM100 each - any feedback or help most welcome as to where I can find decent ones

Can you point me to links where I could get the guides to ensure we are getting a totally new and unopened LCD TV when we receive the unit from the dealers eg

- checking how long the LCD TV has been switched on via the remote control
- factory settings
- seal condition
- etc etc

Hi was researching these three models

got the prices at Panny RM28xx, Sony RM33xx (after cashback), and Regza RM26xx - for these Full HD models which one offers best value for money while noting the the Panny offers a 42' IPS panel (ppl say good for contrast and wide viewing only) while Sony and Regza are 40"

How to create permanent internet connection

Hi

I currently use the Kasda modem and a Linksys wireless router to access the Internet - in network connections I have a dialup icon which i have to click connect all the time to enter the Net.

I noticed that there is a method where we can set the modem and router to have the Internet access permanently - ie when we switch on our laptop the wireless network is already connected to the Net, and all we have to do is to open the browser and surf straight away.

Please share the method how to set the router and modem to do this thanks

Hi I work from home for an IT company - and log into intranet via a secure VPN client - problem is not my wife has also just starting with a small solutions company and like me have to log in from home - does Streamyx alllow >1 VPNs to be running at the same time?

Seems ridiculous if only one VPN per Streamyx account. What could I do with the modem etc t make it work?

I heard of the Citibank AIrAsia promotion where new cardholders can get to purchase the HP Compaq Presario Desktop PC with the following specs for RM 290

AMD Sempron S3400
256MB memory
80GB HDD
DVD Rom
17" CRT monitor
Microsoft Vista Starter Edition
Free 1-month StreamyX (Hotspot connectivity)

I have to pay RM 150 for processing and delivery charges

I can choose to upgrade to a HP w17e Flat LCD monitor for RM 299 extra.

Would the PC + delivery + monitor upgrade = RM 290 + 150 299 = RM 739 be a good deal?
Would I need to upgrade the RAM to 512 to make Vista Home Premium operate? how much does it cost?
Would I aslo need to upgrade the video card to 128? again how much does it cost?

I have an antiquated Presario desktop with Windows ME with P3 933Mhz processor. There's nothing installed so I have nearly 30GB of HDD space.

Questions

- Want to upgrade the OS to MS XP - how many GB space required
- Also want to install a 128MB graphics card with PCI - since the mob has only PCI slots, no AGP no PCIE etc - is this able to run without problems - where can I find one in lowyat from a trusted seller?
