Sand ppl force me out of my own home

Is it just me or is many apartments in Klang Valley infested with Pak Hitam and Sand People?

A Sand People family moved into a unit neighbouring mine a few months ago. They have a retarded daughter who screams at the top of her lungs throughout the morning when the residents are trying to sleep. The family itself don't sleep until 6am ... sometimes they hold early morning dinner parties.

Because I have some health problems I cannot endure the continued distrubances to my sleep. Today I just signed a tenancy agreement to rent another apartment in a different part of klang Valley - the deposit, lawyer fees etc cost me a bomb.

In one or two months I'll be putting my home up for sale. Feels like my heart being ripped out , thanks to the foreigners and the "investors" who rent to them!

Dear all,

Because of some unpleasant foreign neighbours I decided to sell my current home and rent a small apartment unit, maybe for a few years.

Centrestage 301sq ft studio in Section 13 PJ and Subang Olives studio (any size as long as rental is below RM1,300) in SS16, Subang Jaya are on my shortlist.

What is important to me is the apartment must be quiet and peaceful at night (no screaming children, no shouting), safe and rental is RM1,300 and below.

Sifus, please give advice, pros and cons and feedback about the environment, tenant profile in those two places etc.

Also, can someone recommend me a good conveyancing lawyer as I need to see my current apartment. Please PM me the name, address and contact details.

Bank asking for new fire insurance cert

Dear all,

I recently refinanced my home loan to Bank P. Bank P (famous for a video posted on YouTube) has a reputation as a "careful" bank, and I thought I'm fine with that since I always pay my bills on time.

But I found out to my regret that Bank P is very fond of asking for documents while giving short datelines for me to hand them over.

Latest example, my apartment's fire insurance policy expires on May 11. I received a letter dated April 11 on April 20 asking me to hand over a copy of the renewed policy cert within 14 days from April 11, which is only a few days from now!

My apartment's management office has not even billed me yet for the fire insurance. And from my experience with insurance companies, the cert may take 1-3 months to arrive after payment.

Please advice how do I respond to Bank P?
1. Ignore them for now
2. Write in to them
3. Other options?

Giving me a deadline when the policy has not expired yet seems not too reasonable to me

May I know:
1. What time is the counter for paying summons at the police station open, is it 9-5 and on weekdays only or 24 hours?

2. Can I pay at pos office?

Let's say you were walking with a guy when a couple of foreigners started whistling and making crude comments (it happned to me a few times).

I'm currently dating a guy who doesn't like to drive. Other than for short trips to a few familiar places, he'll suggest we either take LRT, taxi or that I drive (either my car or his). His car is rather old too.

The thing is he is not a useless bum or anything like that. He is intelligent, open-minded, has a decent career, is a successful investor and so on. In short, he has his oddities but is quite a good catch

My question: is it normal and socially acceptable for a girl to drive her boyfriend on dates?

Tried Google but the sites that I found gave "Error 404".

My story is this:
A couple of days back, I was stuck in a traffic jam. The traffic lights are not working and a cop was directing traffic.

A big truck was beside me and I was keeping a wary eye on it. Wasn't sure if the cop was signing for me to stop.

As I was driving away, I saw the cop looking at my car's bumper and reaching for a pen.

Not sure if he can give me a summons if I fail to stop when he signed me to stop (I wasn't looking - it's the truck's fault for blocking my view)

Anyone have idea what's the fine if he did gave a summons?

Price of Peace (of mind)

My landlord recently sold her house and I need to find a new place to rent very soon. I've shortlisted several choices and frankly, I'm having sleepless nights deciding which one to choose:

1. New Low-medium cost apartment (Mentari Court) ... rental is cheap RM650 for a RM3r 2b apartment. There are lots of students there. Unfortunately, there are also a lots of shady characters .... former squatters, foreign manual workers, Africans etc. I'll probably worry for my safety if i stay there ... but i'll save lots of money

2. New upper-medium class condo ... rental RM1k (studio) to RM1.5k (2r2b). A much nicer place, nicer neighbours and I'll feel much safer. But the rental will take out a big chunk of my salary, which means much less savings.

3. Old middle-class house. RM650 (2r2b) to RM1.2k (3r 2b). This is probably be the choice for most male executives. But there's no security guards and the crime rate is so high these days. Plus, the houses are 20-years-old.

I need to stay 1-2 years only as my own apartment is under construction.

Which choice will you guys and girls pick? What is the price for peace of mind? Is saving several thousands ringgit worth the price of living in fear?
