Retention money

Hello,

I am working in construction industry and now I have big problem regarding my employment with my current company.I'm working by project basis and in my employment letter, they put a clause to retain RM500 from my basic salary and will be fully paid after I finished my service in the project but SUBJECTED to the payment from the client.

After nearly 4 months the project finished, the retained amount (RM10k+) still pending from my company.They said that the payment from client still outstanding about 2 months and now I felt like subcontractor begging for the payment (f***s**t!!!!!)

How to resolve this problem? Any of you out there have any experience to lodge a report to labour office? The problem is I still work with the same company but for another project and I don't want to make it in a harsh way to lodge a report.The good news is now they abolished that kind of retention money term in employment letter.

Any advice will be appreciated.
