drawing electricity from car battery...

Dear all,

how can i draw a constant voltage AND a constant 2 amps from my car battery?
a friend of mine manage to design a "pressure swing" generator, which he manage to
scale down small enough to absorb oxygen gas from the air to a purity of 91%.

the issue is that he tested is that when he hook up to the car battery, the unit
draws about 5 amps as a start and when the unit heats up it draws up to 15amps
burning the wire attaching to his unit.

i was wondering is there a electrical circuit (DIY or available in the market) that is able to provide a constant 2 amps
regardless of voltage? i proposed to him to draw the electricity from the car cigarette lighter.

alternator output DC or AC?

Dear all,

i would like to know whether our car alternator is producing AC or DC?

i'm curious as i overheard someone at my normal mechanic service shop telling the mechanic that the alternator is producing AC.

As i know all the electronic items in the car utilizes DC.

do enlighten me.

i would like to know the followings:

1. updating nokia gps, is it free?, minimum amount if require to pay to update?
2. is it free to use or the service provider (maxis, digi, celcom) will charge when i use the gps
3. how reliable is the gps by nokia (OVI)
4. which program should i use? (Garmin, or OVI-nokia)

5. recommendations, pro and cons, advice / opinions on the above matter.

dear all,

i got a problem with my kingston 8Gb datatraveler's privacyzone...
it came bundle with a "privacy zone" program where you can password lock a portion of the thumb drive
the problems after 3 use the file went missing and i'm not able to retrieve my files in my "privacy zone"
i tried google for the file and through database such as "downloads.com" and such.. i'm not able to
download the program.. even the kingston official web page is a nightmare...

can anyone help me?

ECU

our car's ECU job is to set the fuel to air ratio to the combustion chamber. the only thing i really don't understand / confuse is that when we increase the air flow by using the performance air filter / high flow air filter, will the ECU compensate by increasing the amount of fuel for burning as we increase the volume of air going into the throttle body...

if higher volume of air = more fuel to achieve the fuel to air ratio, then claims of better FC on some of the air filter brochure is a little misleading i must say...

enlighten me if i'm wrong.

micro compressor headache...

dear sifu(s),

the story goes like this, a friend of mine had an accident. (his ride: Honda Jazz)
and now he plans to add-on a NGV to his repaired car and he removed the
air compressor attached to his Honda Jazz. he discover that his ride is smoother.
in the end he changed his mom's "Kia Rio 1.3" to NGV and remove the micro
compressor. he gave me the micro compressor and Air compressor to me as
he said he got no used of it anymore.

my Question:
1. can i hook up the micro compressor to my ride?
2. where should i hook it to? (please refer to the picture attached.
do add arrows to indicate if you know where to hook the items.)
3. what are the effects of it?
- increase/decrease fuel consumption?
- increase/decrease pick up?
- increase/decrease.... what other stuffs?
4. can i attached the normal air compressor to my ride?
5. is it the same point as the micro compressor?

my ride: Stock Hyundai Accent 1.5 (2004)

how do i check

1. loading of my alternator? (any tools / equipments / where can i check?)
2. what is the capacity (written anywhere or how do i check)
3. what happen when my alternator is overworked? (Possible damage to the car/accessories)
4. any other matter that i have to take note.

drum brakes --> disc brakes

dear all,

my rear drum brakes starts to sound "tuk tuk tuk" each time i press on the brakes.
i have send the car to the mechanic twice to had it fix! two different mechanic mind you!
they say the drum brake lining is clog up with brake dust. they just use pressurize air
and blow off the lining and assemble it back...
the sound comes back after a while. my question is:

1. what is the source of the problem?
2. what i must tell the mechanic it i were to send in for another checkup?
3. what should i look into before i change the rear brakes to disc brakes?
4. the cost of changing from drum brakes to disc brakes?
5. what are the complications that might arise from this changes?
will it affect my car stability during braking?

Wax and paint maintenance

Dear all,

my problem: stay near a cement factory, car tend to be coated
with dust and it gets worst after a good rain...

my solution: wash daily and wax weekly basis.

considering: to purchase those hand held machine thingie that
spins to wax.. (Not sure what it is called)

Questions in mind:- (estimated price)

1. what brand of machine which is available and relieable and price range if available..
2. the type or sponge/cloth recommended (brand and price if available)
3. recommended wax (currently using Turtle wax and turtle wax platinum shampoo)
4. advice/items to ponder before purchasing the machine as mentioned in item 1.
5. other things that i might missed / your kind advice to a fren.

turbo - performance parts or just for show?

Dear all,

I'm driving a Hyundai Accent 1.5 auto and I have been hearing my friends talking about improving the performance of their own car by changing/adding performance parts and 1 topic that caught my attention was "turbo". Now from what I gather from books and from the internet resources I come to a conclusion that:

. Turbo increases air intake into the manifold of the engine.
. Upon the above mention effect, thus increasing the amount of burn-able matter besides fuel.

Now my main questions are.. IF I attached a turbo or compressor into my car will it:

1. improve pick-up or fuel saving? - I heard a lot of ppl saying it will improve fuel economy. I doubt it as it only increase the amount of air into the combustion chamber and not changing the amount of fuel into it! Pls validate this for me.
2. what sort of things I need to change/add? Tuning perhaps, in fuel injection system?
3. Any disadvantage or side effects to the car's parts?
4. difference between "turbo" and "micro compressor"?
5. price of a turbo?
6. any other additional information regarding turbo/compressor?

Pls validate or clear my doubts as above mention.

lately i can't open my HDD by double clicking it in "my computer"

is this a work of a virus? if it is why i don't get any warning from my antivirus?

how can i solve this problem. i try to update my antivirus and clean it again but

didn't work out.

i tried clearing my registry with "registry mechanics" and "CCleaner" still

my problem persist...
