Hi Peeps, searched through some old topics but didnt have any concrete answers.

I just bought a new body kit set and yet to install and am getting conflicted answers as to how to go about it best. Wanna ask pros here..

The workshop guy said I should install the kits first then only spray paint. His argument is that need to fit the kits properly first. My friend (he works at paint job shop) however, said should spray first then only install.

Wanna ask, what are the usual price in spraying the whole of front, rear bumper, side skirts and spoiler for solid white?

Any recommendation for good workshop with reasonable prices?

Someone quoted me RM1200-1500 for 'good' paint job and RM700-800 for 'standard' paint job. I think there's alot of con there...

And the guy who sold me the body kits said he can arrange for a paint job of RM400 for standard factory paint. Reliable based on the prices?

Question about Mistubishi Lancer.

Hi all.

Just to get a quick scout out for the Mistubishi Lancer (the one that Insipira copy).

Yesterday banged one, T.T

Wanna get some quotes here as to how much is the repair cost cz I'm very poor lately.

The Lancer's back bumper cracked, but no pieces fall off. No lights involved and the crack is the size of one business card. And the bumper is dislocated at one side.

Roughly how much to repair his bumper ah? Just wana get a quote so I can have an idea how to nego with him. He's getting a quote from his own workshop.

High pitch when braking and cruising.

Hi Sifu Sifu sekalian,

My Saga LMST, recently changed its brake and yeah I picked the cheapest one available =(

Now, my car got high pitch sound when I brake. However, the sound dissappears when the brake is hot (I assume) because when I get down from Genting, the brake is fine, no sound whatsoever but when cruising in the city without serious braking there's this annoying high pitch sound.

I asked the mech who changed it for me and he said the brake need to 'kong' (in cantonese). Doesnt know what that means in english. But I do not want him to do it for me anymore.

So I'm asking, is there anyway I can rectify this problem without spending too much? Will it be easier that I just change the brake again? Since the brake is new (about 2 months) I really hope there's way to go around without changing. But if its too troublesome, I wouldnt mind changing it for the ease of mind.

Also, my car got this high pitch sound when cruising. Doesnt matter what speed but sometimes the sound goes away then comes back. My friends say its the bearing. How much is the bearing?

I'm thinking to fix these two thing back at the Proton SC. Or is that a bad idea? Anyone can recommend a good tyre shop to fix all these somewhere near Sunway area?

As per topic, my Proton Saga (LMST) needed a change for good!

Its all stock for now but I would really want to do something to it.

I have to admit I am very noob in all these so please bear with me

Okay, I'll start with my budget. Preferably around RM600 (but negotiable depending on what's important to get first and if its worthy).

My criteria would be, I love bass. But sometimes I prefer slow music too. So it will be great if the system has variable bass where I could adjust to my mood. So, I'm really looking at something bit bassy and clear. I dont aim to blast it so loud that I deafened myself. So, the bass doesnt have to be spectacular, just have to be good enough.

So please Lowyat Netizens, PIMP my ride!

As states above my model 2640T i've got an issue with its wireless.

When i first set up the wireless, my laptop can connect to it but my sis couldnt. So I changed from WPA to WEP because her's is an older model.

But now that its on WEP, my laptop couldnt connect to it. I can detect it and when i tried to connect, it establish a connection with 'Not Connected' or sometimes it just hangs at 'Waiting for the network' part.

What could be wrong here ? Please enlighten me.

Blocked port on external IP

Hi all.

This is my case. I just did port forwarding and everything goes fine but my BT still shows connection problem. I dont go more than 5kbs. I ran a check and found out that my external IP blocked my port.

Question is, what ports are available ? Because I've tried alot and they dont seem to work. Im suspecting Streamyx blocked all cz mine was newly applied.

Please help me.

Couldnt update graphics driver

Hi, my graphics is Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Chipset Family and I found the driver in Intel site. The problem is that when I run the exe file, it says the driver is not validated for this comp. What could be the problem ?

I couldnt start certain game although I ran the config utility that stated I had the minimum requirement to run the game and in one, I just got kicked out from the game after loading without prompt.

Please help !

Proton Saga or Perodua Viva ?

Other than those mentioned above I could think of any. What would you guys recommend me ? I saw Viva and its not bad. Sort of pretty and the speedometer is bright which attracted me the most.

Learning Stocks

Hi Im turning 19 this year and I am currently a Uni student doing business degree.

My lecturer gave me an insight on stocks and I have great interest in it and planning to open a CDS account once Im confident with my trading skills, particularly in stocks.

I read articles on stocks and tradings from Bursa Malaysia, Securities Commission, Apex Trading and Investopedia.com. Somehow I have some idea on the basics of trading but still not sufficient to really start investing.

There are few questions I would like to ask.

1. Is there any particular things that I need to know before I get started in shares ? Brokerage commissions and stuffs ? I read some about the transaction costs.

2. Any good sites regarding stock market to introduce ?

3. Im currently searching for a Malaysia stock simulator. Anyone can provide me with a link ?

Basically Im starting from scratch as Im not touching about finance yet in my studies but I would like to learn from now. So Im not sure what I know and what I dont know.

Im moving in to Mentari Court Apartment this coming March. Im planning to subscribe Streamyx there but Im not sure if I can stay at the same unit for long. As part of policy, they require you to subscribe for a year.

So my question, can I move the line together with me within the period of a year ? How about phone line ? Will the number be the same or I have to re-apply for it ?

The reason Im not confronting CS of Streamyx because I would like to hear any personal experience here. Of course I will talk to the CS but still I dont trust them entirely.

Okay, so heres the case. I am interested to enrol myself into Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Business Administration and yeah, aimed to be top executives for a MNC if possible.

Is there any current students for this degree here and anyone could tell me which University or College offer this degree ? So far I know theres only Taylors' providing this degree.

Alternatives for Streamyx available ?

Hi I'm moving into my new room in Taman Paramount, Petaling Jaya. Its near SS2 that area I guess and Im planning to get a broadband for myself which I will greatly rely upon as its isolated and I need online games to survive.

Im planning to indulge into WoW and Battlefield 2142 which I will rely upon throughout the years I'll be there. So I will need a good broadband which will not cause me any connection problem and preferably a stable and good connection.

So Im asking what are the alternatives to Streamyx ? Any other broadband available and Im not gaming using laptops so wireless is a no-no. Any broadband to recommend ?

If possible I will refrain from streamyx but so far I see theres not much choices available.

Just to update to the latest opinion which is the best law school now. I believe many says Kemayan has degraded due to the leave of many of its capable lecturers where Brickfields sure have a high reputation in this field.

I wonder how recent is this rumour.

Trouble which University to enter

Hi there.

I just completed my SAM in Taylor's College and looking forward to pursue my education in the field of Law. Uhm my aim is to be a Corporate Lawyer and preferably not a criminal lawyer and I am having trouble in choosing which University to enter.

There's few things Im not clear about. Firstly, what is the different between Twinning, Transfer and Externam Programme as I read through navigation ? Im not really sure about the difference and thus would anyone be kind enough to enlighten me ?

2ndly, I am aiming to have a Degree from a prestigious UK University and thus any recommendation which is good ? Also, I seeking forward to have an experience in overseas which best if I can finish my studies here and do my chambering in UK. If not then I guess I'll just be here to finish it.

Could anyone please help me with those ?

Problematic Connections

Hi. Me and my friends subscribed a RM 99 package with modem which I suppose to be only 512kbs compared to 1mb without modem. Correct me if im wrong. Im aware that we are only getting 80% of our subscribed speed and makes it around 480 kbs ? Lazy to count sorry.

Problems here are I always get disconnected and are experiencing super slow speed which I cannot even log in into an online-game. Even when Im surfing, sometimes it will just stopped loading and stay at the white blank page. MSN gets disconnected every 10 mins average and downloads and patching most of the time will not be completed (it will clog, like the water in the drain.. as in stopped in connection).

I have no idea and I dont know if this is the right place to post. If its not, please moderator move this to the specific category. Is it because of my DNS settings or cable problem. Any help will be highly appreciated and thanks in advance.

LAN cable or what ?

See, my housemates apply for streamyx a month ago and its working fine for me till recently i wasnt able to get any connection smoothly.

Situation :
Router placed in my friend's room 20m away from my room connected with LAN cable with the same length. I was able to run at full speed before but recently I couldnt anymore and in fact, I couldnt even connect at times.

Problem :
I couldnt get a smooth connection as they get from the room. I always disconnect and having difficulty even to connect to MSN. However, when I run a speed test, it states that there is nothin wrong with the speed. Nor my config. I can surf with full speed now and I cant even login into MSN a second later.

My friend suggest its the LAN cable's fault as when I buy this cable, the seller actually kinked the cable when he measure it. My friend suggest the wires inside is damaged due to that.

Question :
According to my situation, what are the other possibilities that could cause this except from the LAN cable and is it possible that kinked LAN cable could cause this ? This is urgent and help are required as soon as possible as I need to get back to the shop if this is the fault of the LAN cable.

One more, how do I find the root of this matter ? As in I can identify the cause of this problem as the shop is quite far from my house and so I dont want to get there just to tell me that the LAN cable is working fine.
