Just yesterday (7th June), I bought a new ASUS X453M laptop from Lowyat Plaza for my mother.
Everything looked fine, with the hardware being as advertised on the ASUS official brochures and all.

The problem started when I brought it home.

First things first, this laptop is advertised as having Windows 8.1 with Bing. OK.
When I started it up, the first thing I noticed? No Start button.

Alamak.

When I checked the System Properties, it says it's only Windows 8 Pro. Hmmm...
To be sure, I checked the underside of the laptop. No Windows license sticker.
Checked the laptop box and plastic bag with all the accessories...nothing. No installation disc, nada, zip, zilch.

By now I'm getting a little worried, so I start doing the normal junkware/bloatware removal process.

I FIND A WINDOWS CRACK TOOL.

WOW.

So not only did this shop not install the correct version of Windows, they installed a CRACKED version of it?
What did they do with the Windows license that came with the laptop? Sold it off for profit?

Even worse, I started running a malware scan and it's already popped up several results.
Bloody bastards need to know that consumers are not to be pushed around, especially not relatively tech-savvy people like me.

I'm gonna make sure they get what's coming to them.
