While there is an existing thread, “Fixed Deposit Rates In Malaysia V. No. XX, Strictly for FD Discussion Only,” which has long been maintained and compiles fixed deposit promotions and the latest rates for users...

Due to the recent years of consistently low interest rates — almost all below 4% p.a. from traditional bank FD promotions — I am now looking for alternative low-risk or no-risk options that are non-investment in nature but offer fixed returns, such as KDI Save, Versa Cash, GXBank Pockets, and so on...

However, it is troublesome to scroll through individual threads created for each app. I am not interested in the issues faced by each app; I just want to know the promotions and latest rates.
Therefore, I decided to kick-start a new thread like this on the Lowyat Forum.

This thread is intended to discuss and share the latest promotional interest rates from any investment app, digital bank, or similar platform that meets the following criteria:
1. No discussion on fixed deposit rates from traditional banks (please refer to the original thread)
2. No investment-type risk involved *e.g. within the same app Versa, discuss Versa Cash only, NOT Versa Invest.
3. PIDM protection is optional
3. Pre-defined fixed returns with a stated tenure or campaign
4. Daily or monthly returns are acceptable

FD is matured after our OPR had adjusted to 2.75%...
missed ASM boat too.

Looking for more than 4% platform to park money:
1) KDI capped 50k , 4%
2) Versa Cash capped 300k , 4.2% for 6 months
3) Atlas Bank capped 50k , 5% for 3 months

not looking into EPF and product with risk/fees (eg: bonds) , where else for secured/low risk and 4% yield ???

but not every center offer it, maybe because different center's customer service staff is lack of campaign knowledge.

called 3 centers this morning and the staff are not aware.

Google Drive Storage Plan

i have been seeing so many sellers in shopee selling Google Drive plan, be it monthly, yearly plans are all cheaper than we buy from Google official site; some even selling unlimited/lifetime storage plan.
i see buyer reviews all 5stars, no bad review.
*from seller product description & buyer review: it is storage plan to your gmail account, not using their email/account.

how they do it?
how they bypass the official google drive official store and get cheaper price?
i thought Google a company so big so secure, can hack the plan and sell ? seems not possible ma.

*updates: see some user mentioned can buy thru google turkey which offer a cheaper price. --> anyone done this, mind to share?

Unlock Bootloader

Let say i unlock bootloader for China ROM and flash it with Global ROM.

Questions:
1) Will banking app and high security requirement app unable to use after Bootloader unlock? I know banking app disallow to use if it detect "root" status, but how about bootloader unlock.
2) Will it need us to perform something manually again everytime after OTA updates?

I want to purchase a spare phone, looking to buy either OnePlus 13 VS iQOO 13.

please provide your opinion based on:
1) how many years of Android updates and security patches from each device above?

2) which has a better battery life? i heard iQOO13 has a slightly bigger battery but a poorer battery life compared to OnePlus 13.

3) which phone UI or OS is better? any special features to be considered to take one over another? heard iQOO has a smoother UI than OnePlus 13.

4) any known bad issues with OnePlus 13 or iQOO 13? if you are OnePlus 12/iQOO12 users welcome to provide comment also.

5) any difference between coloros and oxygenos? which is better?

Samsung's software updates in October/November 2024 have caused a current overload in the phone screens of all S22 series models, leading to vertical green or pink lines.

Affected models: S22 Ultra, S22+, S22

Microcement Bathroom

Hi i am looking at doing a bathroom renovation and came across microcement.

Microcement limits any grout lines, easier to clean and resistent to damp and mould issues.
Tiles on the other hand are not and harder to clean, mould at grout lines.

I dont want to hack my current tiles at bathrooms, new house.
1) Anyone tried microcement on there bathroom floor and walls? How did it turn out? Any issues?

study show the microcement is very good materials, but the right procedures to apply several layers is the key to have a successful microcement, else if workmanship dont follow right procedures then it will crack and chip easily.
2) where in Penang can I find the good workmanship that follow all procedures needed to do microcements? any contact to pm me?

background:
to renovate my 1st house (small condo)

idea:
to have smart home at low cost, dont want pay to "smart home vendor/contractor" to charge me additionally to reno company.
plan to purchase all smart home needed devices myself, then pay to the reno company to help install it when they do the electrical point and plaster ceiling.
then self software setup the devices.

existing info i got from DouYin (China tiktok):
xiaomi mijia smart home has the most widest sensors and smart home devices at affordable cost.
also, reliable xiaomi mijia apps at handphone.

questions:
1) the voltage for xiaomi mijia china is at 220V 50HZ, malaysia is 240V 50Hz, can it operate? anyone tried taobao BIG electronic appliance in malaysia? eg: Refrigerator? any issue?

2) can the china version phone app operate in malaysia to control smart home with china imported smart home hardware?

3) i see mostly fuse used in malaysia electronic appliances is 13amp, i see china mostly is at 10amp or 16amp. any impact?

4) any recommend if not xiaomi mijia smart home? any brand wide coverage at low cost? or any smart home brand famous in malaysia market?

[WTA] Car 1 side Signal not work when locking car

Hi guys,

Background:
My car is toyota vios NCP42
signal lights are working fine -> front and rear signal light for both turning left & turning right can blinking
when turn on emergency/hazard light also working fine --> front left right and rear left right all can blinking

Issue:
when locking/unlocking car, only front&rear RIGHT side signal is blinking.
Front&rear LEFT side signal is NOT blinking.

Anyone knows why this happens?
How to troubleshoot?

Currently using M+, which having lowest handling fee.

But, I am currently exploring oversea stock tradings...

Requirements:
1) Mainly for this 5 markets will do: TWSE, HKEX, SGX, China and US. --> (must)
2) The investment account must be under my name, cannot accept custodian account (held under investment firm) --> (must)
3) Pre-funded accounts, or cash upfront trading (CUT) accounts is okay for me (okay either)

Question:

1st case:
when i plug my usb to my s2, it show usb logo on notification bar, it wrote MTP-Initialisation, then change to MTP-Connected... but when i click on the notification, it back to home, nth happen. computer oso din detect anything

2nd case:
Enable usb debugging from Menu > Settings > Applications
return to home screen
plug usb cable in
nothing happen, only battery charging
computer oso din detect anything

3rd case:
Go to Settings > Wireless & Network > USB utilities and click the button > then (and ONLY then) plug in USB cable
nothing happen, only battery charging
computer oso din detect anything
