Home network setup for apartment

Hi, my house is a 2,200sqft apartment and I plan to lay down LAN cable at each room.

Internet usage is work & media streaming only.

1. POE switch (blue) - not sure yet which model or brand yet. Will connect to modem & NAS.
2. TP-Link EAP613 x 1 (purple) - living room https://www.tp-link.com/us/business-network...g-mount/eap613/
3. TP-Link EAP235 x 5 (red) - at each room & wet kitchen https://www.tp-link.com/us/business-network...te/eap235-wall/

All equipment will be connected via LAN.

Is this setup overkilled for my house size or is there a better alternative? Reason I chose EAP235 in each room is just in case there's a future need to use LAN connection.

work at KLCC - where to live for family of 4?

Hi, I have a family of four and I am the sole breadwinner. My two children are 5-12 years old.

Currently working outside Klang Valley but my work requires me to be mobilized to KLCC soon for my permanent 9-5 job.

I am trying to find the best place to rent. Can you guys provide some insights and feedbacks which are the best option?

Company Medical Insurance

Most big companies, if not all, provide company medical insurance to its staff & family.

This medical insurance is normally under well known insurance company. e.g. AIA, Etiqa, etc.

However, something that I'm surprised/delighted by the coverage, is that it covers pre-existing illness & some of the coverage is unlimited.

1. How does this company medical insurance works? e.g. insurance company will only cover bills to a certain limit, but employer will topup balance?

2. Why this kind of coverage is not sold to normal consumer? regardless of how much the monthly instalment will be, I'm sure there will be a market for this.

RM15k for second car

Guys, I have about RM15k to buy a second car.

This car will be used for daily commute to work (max 30km/day). My criteria based on importance are:
a) safety
b) cheap maintenance & easy to find spare parts
c) nothing fancy, just comfortable is good enough. e.g. cold aircond, working radio, etc.

Currently I'm eye-ing on these two
1. 2009-2012 Viva
2. 2008-2010 Myvi

Should I get a car max at RM15k or I should I get one at RM10k & spend the other RM5k to 'revitalize' the car? revitalize as in overhaul on engine, aircond, etc.

My first car is a HRV by the way, and this second car will only be used for work commute & occasional grocery run. I'm open to suggestion on other models too.

SAP Inventory Check Automation

Hello, I currently need advice from experienced SAP users.

In my line of work, we need to perform inventory check for 200+ items weekly.

Currently, we perform inventory check manually item by item using mmbe command. If one item takes 30 seconds, 200 items will take 100 manhours.

I am trying to automate inventory check for all 200 items in one process.

From googling, I have two options:

1. SAP GUI scripting - not possible since SAP scripting is disabled by our IT.
2. mb52 SAP command - most viable way so far

Using method 2, mb52 can extract all 200 items inventory list in one go to an excel file. From this, I have to link it to another excel file which is coded to sum up the inventory.

Is there any other simpler way that I may have missed/overlooked?

Configure router using wifi instead of lan

Whenever I call streamyx/maxis for technical troubleshooting, if they ask me to re-configure/reset their router, they always insist that I connect to the router using ethernet instead of wifi.

Re-configure/reset router in this case means reset to factory default, insert again username password, all those basic stuff.

If I still configure it through wifi they do not guarantee whatever issue I'm facing will be solved.

Is there really any difference how I'm connected when setting up the router?

I'm currently 27-year old and I think I'm ready to jump into property investment. Apologies for any foolish question as this is going to be my first property.

I've recently been offered for a unit at Lagoon View Condominium, Sunway from my old folks. Currently it's being maintained by an agent, as in all rental collections & unit maintenance is done by the agent. My dad is planning to let it go to me for ~500k. Market rental range is around ~2.8k (as I was told) and tenants are all students.

the question is, should I grab this opportunity or I should find better ones out there? my gross income is about 5.5k.

Laptop GPU died

guys, my Macbook Pro just suffered this. Some 2011 MacBook Pros Experiencing GPU Glitches, System Crashes

Basically what happened is, Apple did a bad job with its thermal paste. Thousands of users like me have their laptops died after only 2 years of usage. The victim here is its GPU (AMD Radeon HD 6750M).

Apple haven't done any recall for this issue yet like it does for iMac with the same GPU (Apple Initiates Graphic Card Replacement Program for Mid-2011 27-inch iMac).

Apple warranty is only 1-year. I do not have Applecare blablabla..

My question is, is there any local specialist that could remove the damaged GPU from my laptop and replace it with a new one? Other users are doing this but I'm not sure where I can find this kind of service locally. (https://discussions.apple.com/message/24644476#24644476)

Any feedback regarding this is really appreciated. I don't think posting this in Apple Byte section would produce any result, I know the experts are here.

Using Ipad with office server..

Hey guys,

Is it possible to connect Ipad to my company's wifi server and access the network drive like a normal PC? I know it's possible if it only involves a normal home router.

It's an MNC company, so I'm not sure what kind of protocol are used.

I normally use my laptop to connect to the office's wifi, logs in Windows normally, then only I'll be in the intranet with access to network drives.

Is it possible to do the same thing with an Ipad? Most of my usage will be accessing the network drive. I need to view daily reports which are updated on the server.

Any guidance on this is really appreciated.
