VP

Dear all, here are some of the points that I'd like to discuss on Vacant Possession (VP) and Extensions of Time (EOT).

I understand that there was a Federal Court case that don't allow the Extensions by the Housing Controller anymore.

Since SPAs nowadays has 24/36/48 or more for VP, how could those clauses still be valid after the case?

I saw few SPAs with 48 or more months but since that's not under the Schedule.. why are those clauses still there?

Action Cameras

Hello there,

I've been going through the search function and I could not find a thread that has a mixture of the brands of Action/Sports camera that are available on the market.

For starters, I've tried both GoPro Hero and XiaoMi's Yi camera but to be very honest and considering the price between the two, I could not really differentiate the two. Note though, I've been using them for only a few days just for testing purposes and during different road trips/events only. (Both belonged to my friends as I was using a mirrorless myself).

The main purpose for the thread is to discuss and compare the different brands of action cameras that are available on the market and hopefully I'd get to test them in due course. For now, everyone could give their opinions and reviews on the different brands that they have used before in order to give an insight for possible new users.

On a side note, I'd most likely be ordering a SJCAM SJ4000 or a VicTsing for personal tries soon. I have doubts on SJCAM though as there are a lot of fakes around in the market.

Anyways, if any, thanks for all the upcoming inputs!

AsiaRooms.com has officially been shutdown and moved to LateRooms.com LINK

Here's the news:NEWS

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

SINGAPORE: In a move that caught its employees off-guard, travel website AsiaRooms.com has ceased operations, citing persistent losses for the past seven years.

The 23 staff in the Singapore office were informed of the closure on Feb 25 and told to pack up on the same day, even though the website did not go offline for more than two weeks after.

AsiaRooms.com is under TLRG, which also owns the brands LateRooms.com and MalaPronta.com. Their parent company is TUI Group, a multinational travel and tourism company. By April 2, visitors to AsiaRooms.com were redirected to LateRooms.com.

In an internal email seen by TODAY, TLRG managing director Jesper With-Fogstrup said AsiaRooms.com has faced “a number of difficulties in terms of trading” for some time now.

“While we have invested significantly in the business over the years in order to position it for future profitable growth, it has struggled both to maintain a strong position in the Asia-Pacific online travel agency market, and to deliver in terms of expected commercial performance, having operated at a loss for the past seven years,” he said.

The decision to close AsiaRooms, while “a difficult one”, will allow the company to redirect their energies into returning LateRooms.com back to growth, he added.

Responding to TODAY’s queries, Ms Andrea Tarpey, TLRG’s Head of Communications, attributed the shutdown to a “highly competitive market”, saying the website has “struggled to perform in line with expectations and we have not seen the improvements needed in order to support further investment”.

She added: “We’re pleased to say that there will be no changes for our customers: All future bookings are still valid and will be handled as normal, with the same contact team in place to manage customer support.”

A staff member who declined to be named said the move came as a shock.

“We didn’t see it coming. It’s really disappointing because we’ve put in a lot of hard work into the brand and it disappeared just like that,” she said.

It is understood the company paid one-month’s salary for each year of service with an extra month’s salary as bonus.

When it was operational, AsiaRooms.com’s website said it operated in approximately 180 countries, serving more than 30 million customers in over 20 source markets, and employing about 48,000 people worldwide.

No worries though. No changes have been made according to the site and everything will be the same as usual.

Buying from the Online Stores.

Just wondering, I seldom buy online but then, since I'm a bit tight on my schedules of late, I might want to try out sites like mrporter, farfetch etc etc. I have had some previous experience buying ties, belts and wallets from mrporter but now, I wanna try to get clothes from the sites now.

Still, all of the sizes in the sites vary from one another and I'm actually having some trouble in choosing a size close to my usual size as I'm the type of "try-on before buying" guy. Any guides for me?

[WTA]Is it worth it?

I just want to ask for opinions on this.

Seriously, what do you think when you have to start over from ground zero including probation + pay cut when you go for a new job in a new field? Well, I've seen managers, supervisors and some others are just willing to take the pay cut (ranging from 30 - 50% at times) and start over from 0 again in their new job respectively.

There are a lot of reasons that I've been hearing and now, I want to know what are your opinions on this.

This is not /k/ so serious answers please. Thanks!
