Website statistic tracker?

I'm looking for a statistics tracker for my website. Can anyone recommend me a few and perhaps pros and cons of each?

Anyone with feedback on Google Analytics? I like the interface and detailed breakdowns it gives, though I'm still checking out what else it can do (too many buzzwords and abbreviations!)

What's the catch with these free statistics trackers? I use Extreme Tracker now - its free and gives us the basic data we need (ie page views, referrals etc). But should I be concerned about security of the data?
