<title>What effects do the type of shell have on snare?</title>
            <link>http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2059651</link>
<description>I bought myself a mapex mpx 13x6 all birch snare and waiting for it to arrive. In a way, i bought it out of curiosity because all this while i never had my own snare, and type of snares that i&amp;#39;ve ever played on are steel and maple shells.i can hear that steel shell snares are louder n ring a lot compare to its wood compatriot. i knw there are a lot more types of shall available in the market..there are a lot of demo videos on youtube but im particularly interested to hear from someone who played on various shells or listened to them first hand.</description>
