Media player with PAL / NTSC selection

All,

Currently, I'm using Kword M-100 to play HK drama series (RMVB format) with my LG model RT29FD15Vx without any problem. The video out setting is selectable from PAL to NTSC interlace.

Due to recent 720P BD-RMVB and MKV files become common in today torrent download, I intend to buy an economic media player for my CTR TV which can support BD-RMVB and MKV format files.

From the forum, I found and bought this Diyomate K3+ which support CVBS and YPbPr. When I connect it to my CRT TV and press CVBS, no color display on my TV no matter how I switched the video out setting to PAL or NTSC. (I do check specification of my TV, its support PAL/SECAM and NTSC). When I press YPbPr button on the media device, I can see three vertical flickering image with color. I did try on Plasma TV, It can play in NTSC and HDMI mode.

Since PAL and NTSC are the world standard color encoding system. Suppose, it should be no problem to play it on my CRT-TV with PAl or NTSc selection.

Can I judge that the PAL system in media device is faulty or not working?

Appreciate helps and comments from SIFU...............
