[HR question] Resignation during office holiday

Hi sifu sifu HR.

I would like to tender my resignation soon as I have a better offer otw. Currently serving with 1 month notice. I wanted to check if my company closes for the year end (22nd onwards) and I tender my resignation today, will i be compensated for the full month or until the 22nd only? Can they choose to cut short my notice period?

I'm just wondering if I need to prep myself to have additional funds if I don't get full salary for the month of January 2024.

Laptop Suggestion for Graphic Designer

Greetings all.

Would just like to ask opinions/suggestions for a good laptop that will be mainly used for work with some gaming every now and then.

First things first, budget is around RM6k. Can go higher but hard capped at RM6.5k.

Im using this for graphic designing work. So one with a i7/Ryzen 7 should be sufficient. And because I do a bit of video editing and animation, I think dedicated GPU is a must. And because of the amount of travelling I do, I need something a bit light and preferably with a large battery life.

I was looking at a few options:
1) Vivobook Pro 16X OLED
2) Vivobook Pro 15 OLED
3) Stealth 15M B12UE 033
4) Zephyrus G14 GA402 2023
5) Illegear Arte 14

Anyone have any experience with these laptops or have any other recommendation?

Looking for reno contractor | Seri Kembangan

Apologies if I'm posting in the wrong group. I'm looking for a contractor to do the renovation for my 904sqft condo at Seri Kembangan.

Projects I'm looking to do:

1. Plaster ceiling with lightbox for living, dining and kitchen areas + ceiling painting
2. Flat plaster ceiling + cornice for 3 bedrooms + ceiling painting.
3. Lighting points + fan points for living, dining, kitchen, rooms and toilet.
4. Electrical works (looping wiring, adding plug points, adding switches)
5. AC units + Installations (Required units: 1x 2.0HP -wifi + inverter | 1x 1.0HP inverter | 2x 1.0HP regular) Brands I prefer: Daikin / Panasonic
6. Wall painting (not required but would be great if included)

If you have a contact or a contractor in mind, do share along, please.

Budget-wise: under RM25k if possible.

I will share a full brief as well as the layout and floor plan with the contractor.

Question regarding cancellation

Hello, just have a quick question regarding cancellations of the vacc appointments. Originally my second dose was on the 4th at a private clinic. Then I cancelled around mid last week as I realised 4th I had a bit of urgent matter to attend to.

Now it turns out I'm available on the 4th to go, but want to ask if I can still walk in to clinic as I have appointment card as well as on vaksincovid.gov.my semakan still there and no under cancelled. But on MySJ said cancelled.

Called the help desk they said just use the appointment card can go, but called the clinic said need to wait.

Usually how long MySJ will take to reschedule for Pfizer? Knowing ppv all will open for walk in, a bit worried they will schedule it quite late after the 3-4 week mark for second dosage.

[WTA] Recommended First Home within Budget

Hi all,

So the time to buy my first home has come. Would anyone be able to recommend any developers preferably finishing within Q1/Q2 of 2021 probably within a budget of ~RM550k nett.

Additional info:
1. I work in KL, so either close to workplace or there is public transportation nearby for convinience.
2. It will be for own-stay for at least 5-6 years before a family comes along.
3. Preferably 900sqf and above.
4. Landed/High-rise is okay.
5. Prefer new launches as there is some time to prepare all the funds.
6. Wouldn't mind areas such as subang/kelana jaya/damansara area.

If anyone has any advise as well, please provide. I need all the knowledge I can get.

[WTA] Recommended Dent & Spray fixing in Subang

Sifu-sifu subang jaya. I had a minor accident with an Estima this morning. Her car had a minor dent/scratch, no bigger than a finger's length. Does anyone know where to get her car checked and done up around Subang Jaya area? Preferably a mechanic thats honest and works on a budget (still a student here so cant afford to go more that RM150 at most). Any recommendations would be great.

PS: My bezza only had a small crack in the license plate

If can drop a contact number as well to the place as I will be going with the Estima owner on Saturday so I can contact them before hand.

Hello all Low Yat forumers. I went to survey today for a laptop for my college. Im using it for adobe programs and some medium-heavy gaming.

What i came across in the recommendation thread was the Lenovo Y480. But as I went to survey LYP and Digital Mall, not many sellers have the Y480 with the i7-3630QM proc. One fella recommended the Y400, which is a slight step up from the Y480, but for a slightly more costly. Also, the Y480 is only available on the garage sales section, and im not too sure if i can trust the dealers there (No offence to those reading here, just had a bad experience last time).

So based on the two, which would you recommend?

Specs are as followed. Not too sure on the Y480 proc as the sellers are saying they only have the i7-3610M one.

Hello I'd like to ask if anyone can recommend me a pretty good camcorder. I was looking at a few and the panasonic DMX-CA9 seems to pique my interest. I like those pistol grip styled ones more though. And other recommendations? And is the panasonic worth buying? Selling for RM999 at amcorp mall.
