hard disk high usage

hi guys, my hard disk is showing 100% usage most of the time.
Note that I did not copy anything in the background, just plainly browsing internet.

So is my computer infected with virus or the hard disk is having problem?

When this happens I cannot use Microsoft word or watch movies, the programs become not responding.
Please help, thanks in advance.

I owned a LX5 but wish to upgrade to a DSLR (after tested my friend's EOS 550D)

Anyway what can I do to make my LX5 pictures look more like a DSLR photos? I heard LX5 can take 3D photo but never actually use it.

Also looking for used Nikon D5100 and Canon EOS 550D.
