Bios update problem

I'm using MSI P965 Neo MB, I ran the live update and it updated my bios.
But after few hours it just hang there so I restart, and there is no signal
to my monitor but the CPU is running.

I found out later that restarting during update is a bad thing. I just wanted
to ask those with prior exprience.... is there a way to salvage this problem,
or I should just forget it and buy a new motherboard?

Also if I get another brand motherboard will I have to reinstall windows?

Thanks in advance.
