SG2 failed to update or flash

Hi, very new here and to SG2. Bought SG2 3 weeks back. Stock rom is XWKF1. Not rooted till today. Had tried but failed on many occasions.

First try, flashing Litening ROM 6.1 using ODIN. Process stuck at firmware update, with no progress, for > 4 hrs. Remove cable, reboot phone (removing battery) and it was back at XWKF1. Was later advised that KIES must be removed via Task mgr before flashing with Odin.

Next, connected to KIES 2, noted an update available. Firmware downloaded, phone goes into download mode and update process starts. It just stayed like this, with status bar showing 0% for about 35 minutes. Remove cable again, reboot and phone was still at XWKF1. Did this process 3 times, over a period of a week, same result, all 3 times.

Today, tried to flash XWKH4, from Android Advises. Followed the instructions to the tee using Odin 1.83 (came with the firmware). Remove all traces of KIES from Task Mgr. Process reached to the stage of Bootbin. Stayed at this stage for >30 minutes, without any progress at all. Again removed cable and rebooted. Phone still at XWKF1.

Just wondering what have I missed? All the instructions were pretty clear.

Seeking sifus here for further guidance before attempting another updating or flashing.
Had been flashing and rebooting too many times, without adverse effect to phone yet but felt my luck would soon run out and bricked this gorgeous phone, if I continue.

Note: all times, anti virus was turn off.

Much regards and I apologise to all, if this is in wrong thread or incorrect format.

Thank you for your patience.
