Hi all,

One of my user just got the new BB Curve 8520. Everything else is working fine except the call log. It does log all the incoming/outgoing & missed calls but it cannot show the LAST entry properly. It's showing half. Pls refer to the attachment for what I mean.

I've tried clearing the call log but to no avail, even if it's just 1 entry it still just showing half of the info.

Any idea?

Hi,

Anybody know where to buy the rubber underneath the s10 netbook? Somehow 1 of the rubber dropped off and now i can't balance the netbook evenly.

I've checked with the official customer support is it's selling rm11 a peice! so expensive.

Slow loading network shared folder

Hi all,

I have a NT server sharing folders and let my users accessing it in a LAN. There's 1 very important folder storing all the Word documents in it. Lately, the number of files stored in that folder exceeded 20k and am not sure that's causes users having problem accessing and opening files from that folder. It take minutes to load the content in the folder and another min to open a single file. I try to load the same folder in the server itself and it does take a while to load up the content. Is there any way to speed this up? Does moving that shared folder to Windows 2000 or Windows XP helps?

Pls Note that this folder will keep growing and I wonder what's the maximum number of files a single folder can hold without affecting performance issue.

Audio issue with game

Hi all,

I have a weird issue lately after building a new PC with the following spec:

INTEL QUAD-CORE 2.66GHZ/8M/LGA1156/I5-750
INTEL DP55WB MOTHERBOARD
KINGSTON 2GB PC3 10600 1333MHZ DDR3 RAM (KVR1333D3N9/2G)
ASUS 1GB ENGTS250DK PCI-E/HTDI/DDR3 (Graphic Card)
COOLER MASTER RC-335-KWR5-GP ELITE 335+500WATT CASING
WD 640GB 7200RPM 16MB 3.5INCH SATAII HDD

The PC is running original Windows XP Home, connected to external speaker. Everything else run fine and smooth except when playing Left for Dead 2. The sound will cut off after like 2 minutes and then the whole system will go mute. Even after exit the game the problem persist, have to restart the PC in order to get the sound to work again. Other games are fine, it only happens when I play L2D 2.

Any idea how to resolve this?

Vista Service Pack 2

Hi all,

I'm trying to fix a Sony Vaio my boss passed to me and I've reformatted the machine from Vista Home Premium to Vista Biz SP1. I can install all other software including Office 2007 and Office service packs. However, I fail to install Vista SP2. I've tried the Windows Update and also the standalone method.

I got the following error:

I've done the above said but to no avail. I can install Office 2007 SP2 without activating Office 2007 (because don't want to waste the license purchased. If cannot use then will assign to another laptop). And I have not activate the copy of Windows too.

Could that be the Windows MUST be activated before I could proceed with SP2 installation?

I accidentally defined Group Policy with gpedit.msc on one of my PC and now Run, Control Panel nor My Computers are not accessible by ANY users, even local admin also cannot access.

Is there anyway to revert back the changes I've made?

Conflick with USB Devices (Weird Issue)

Hi all,

I have a new CPU setup with XP Pro, updated with SP3. I have a weird problem with the USB devices. If I plug in my Prolink Webcam, the USB Flash Drive (tried multiple units) is not recognized in Windows. If I unplug the Webcam, then everything is functioning well.

So I try connecting the Webcam to my old CPU. Everything is working fine.

So now what's the most possible cause of the problem? I need to use the webcam and usb flash drives on my new CPU.

Zyxel Wifi ADSL Router Problem

Am having a weird issue today with my router, It'z Zyxel ADSL Wifi Router. 1 of the LED for ethernet port is on even without cable plug in and my PCs all can't connect to internet, even can't login to the router.

I've tried resetting the device but still the same.

Just want to know out any possible way of fixing it before I send it back to Zyxel.

Cannot Sign in Windows Live Messenger

Hi all,

I have a weird problem. I tried to sign in my Windows Live Messenger from my laptop after a .net framework 3.5 updates but couldn't. It says the service is unavailable at the moment. But I can login successfully with other accounts. I've tried to login from different computers and different network (in Office & Home) but still the same. I can sign in to my Hotmail but not my messenger.

My messenger is very important to me as that's how I communicate with my customers.

Any idea?

Can recommend which is the best payroll system suitable for SMB? My co only has about 30 headcounts. My boss is just looking for basic payroll that can generate PCB, EA form, Payslip, EPF contribution and can provide computation for both local & expat. staff, fixed salary & commission based salary.

I know there's UBS & MYOB. Any other recommendation? Which 1 is better between UBS & MYOB?

Google Gear & Firefox

Hi,

I'm trying to use Google Gears in my Firefox 3.0.6 for offline access to Google Docs/Gmail. As soon as I click on the Offline option within the Docs/Gmail or the Gears Setting under Tools menu, Firefox will freeze. I need to End Task whenever I try it.

I wanted to try to uninstall Gears from the Add-ons list but it's not allowed, I can only disable or enable this add-ons. I've tried to reinstall Gears but same result.

However, when I try this on IE 8, it works like a charm, no issue at all. But my default browser is Firefox.

Am running Vista.

Any idea how can I fix this and make Gears running on Firefox properly?

Microsoft Outlook Large PST File Issue

I have a big PST file (2.69GB) which I don't have any backup. My user sent a movie file through Outlook (Pls forgive him, he's not IT savvy at all) and cuase the Outlook to crashed.

Is there any FREE solution to re-open the PST file again? There are alot of important business document in there, which include contracts with the clients.

Printer Sharing problem on Windows Vista

Hi all,

I have a problem with the printers shared on Windows Vista Business edition on a workgroup environment. XP machines are able to access this machine and able to see/use all the shared printers. However, Windows 98 machines only able to see/access the shared folders on the Vista machine but not the printers. None of the shared printers show up when I try to access through \\vistamachinename...

So here are the questions:

1. Does Vista support print service from Windows 98?
2. Any other possible way to share the printer to Windows 98?

Weird Email Issue

Hi all,

I have a very weird issue with my company email. This happen randomly.

We normally compose and send email in HTML format. Nothing wrong with it. But sometime, once in a while, the reply we get from our recipient cannot be displayed. All I can see is my own email that we have composed earlier.

How I notice that the email actually contain messages from the recipient is because I do forwarding at my hosting side to my gmail, so I get another copy in my gmail. I can see the reply from the recipient in my gmail, but the format of what I wrote all has been changed. (it looks like text or Rich text format).

So I thought it was an issue with Outlook 2007. But that was not the case, same email went to 2 Outlook 2003 users, 1 can display the message similar in my Gmail but the other got the same look as mine, no reply msg.

Am clueless. Anybody can help me?

Hi all,

Does anybody know how to configure the Zyxel P660HW-T1 v2 Wireless ADSL Router to accept Windows' Remote Desktop Connection from remote location?

I've setup DynDNS on my desktop but when I try to ping to my desktop I get request time out. I've set the Vista machine firewall to allow RDC & Port TCP 3389. Any other setting I need to do? Am stuck at the wifi router side because am not familiar with firewall setting in the console interface.

Appreciate any suggestion as am clueless now.

Linksys Wireless Router Issue

Hi,

Am using Linksys WRT45G wifi router for some time.

I have 3 PCs at home. 1 Desktop & 2 laptops.

Recently, I notice whenever my desktop is on (connected via LAN cable), then all clients (wireless) wouldn't be able to surf. As soon as I unplug the cable from the router, then the other 2 laptops can surf wirelessly without problem.

But when desktop is connected, am still able to browse to files/folders shared on the desktop. However, transferring large file always fail half way (wireless laptop --- wired desktop). To transfer big file, I must connect both machine with cable. Then I can transfer the large file (music, movie, pictures etc) successfully.

If I do that (connect both with cable), then I can't surf, even for the other laptop connected wirelessly.

I've tried reset the linksys router but to no avail.

Could it be a virus problem coming from Desktop or could it be the router is faulty?
