harder to look for candidates thesedays

Is it just me, or more and more people are finding it the vacant positions in a company are getting harder to be filled these days? especially among the junior posts where most of the candidates are expected to be 90s born.

for example in my company, recently there are few vacancies but it takes long time to look for candidates, some are either demanding too much, some simply don't give a shit, they don't really care even if they stayed unemployed

not to judge the 90s born, but most of them tend to display such tendencies, some of them rather work for jobs with relatively easy environment and flexible time, including MLM, pyramid, Uber, selling things online, and whatnot. Even they got selected to work in a office job, they won't stay for long.

is that traditional employment system are getting diminished as the advent in sharing economy?

even for me as an 80s born, I found it harder to climb the corporate ladder for current generation (Gen Y), our median population overall is rather young, but the retirement age for people are getting longer, hence there is not uncommon for young workforce to report to old management, leading to conflicts in culture. Some more with the rising inflation, and skyrocketing property prices, youngsters see no hope to own their house despite how hard they try to chase for performance?

new job salary lower than previous one

I have been offered a position

the salary offered is RM100 lower than my previous job, the reason given is that my previous experience in helpdesk field was not relevant to server support,

so ok.. actually I am acceptable to the fact that I indeed do not have much experience in higher technical field, and I accept that if the company willing to pay me the same amount compare to last company, the company HR and interviewer had even viewed my payslip.

It's not that I care much about that RM100 of difference, but the thing which offended me is that they do not honor their words, during the 1st phone interview, the hiring manager told that the most he could offer was RM2.3k, and yet after the face2face interview, HR called me said that they can only offer Rm2.2k of basic, what's more, is the company requiring you to be bond for 1 year for training they will give you.

I can't imagine that a junior system engineer's pay can be lower than that of L1 helpdesk?

PS/ both this company and my previous company pay the same amount of allowances.

[addedon]March 12, 2012, 10:36 pm[/addedon]I need to gather your opinion, if possible, please cast your vote

want to tender resignation letter

I plan to tender my resignation letter as early as possible so that I can serve the notice period ASAP, I don't want to drag too long

the problem is, my manager is currently on vacation, he didn't reply my email and I can't give the letter to him in person

my question is, does the resignation notice serve the same purpose if I submit the letter to HR first? Do I need manager's approval to which day to start to serve the notice? I don't think so rite? As long as I serve the required 2 months from the date of the resignation letter, should it be fine then?
