Children's book pricing

There is a children's story that I want published but I'm not entirely sure of the pricing that publishers are willing to pay for. So I'm asking about a nominal price that I can quote to them. Its a simple story book with no illustrations. Each story is probably around 150-200 words long in very simple English considering it is a children's book.

I have 8 books in total. So I'm just wondering how much should I sell each story for or what would be a reasonable quote?

Roadie to Fixie

So, i'm not sure how many of you guys are fixie afficianados, bit recently I stumbled upon an old roadie bike and was wondering how to turn it into a fixie. Now I know most of you all will be like "ah fixie for hipster lah.. Blah blah blah.."

But I think being able to make/fix your own bike is a wonderful sensation. So just asking a general question for you guys, how do I fixie my roadie? FYI, I'm not a fixie person myself. I just happen to want to start a fixie making project for the fun of it.

I took out most of the nonessential parts like the gear shift, and the derailleurs and I've done my research on how to "fixie" it but most of then are too confusing. I don't want to pump a butt load of cash into it either because I think it would just defeat the purpose of the project.

So drop a comment or some advice. All would be greatly appreciated.

(Will upload some photos soon.)

Should i pay?

So this is my "problem" that i'm going through. I rented a house roughly 1 year and a half ago in Puchong. (I wont name the place or address) And i have recently moved out. I settled everything with the land lord and taken back my deposit and everything. The problem is that now the main tenant in that house who is the landlord(lady)'s ex-husband wants me to pay RM80 for a broken light.

The story is like this, after i moved in to the room, i stayed for 6 moths and the lights suddenly "kaput". so i told the main tenant about this problem assuming that they are responsible to fix it. He then tells me that it usually is the tenants' responsibility to fix the light and the landlord is not obliged to fix it. so, not wanting to argue with him, i bought the lightbulb and starter. after buying the light bulb and starter, i managed to fix it. but another 3 months down the road it spoil again. so this time i ask again whether they can help me fix because i suspect that its a faulty wiring. he again tells me that it is not their responsibility. so i got fed up and didn't bother to fix it at all. since i only use the place to sleep and bath i rarely need the light in my room anyway.

back to the present time when i have moved out. like i said previously i settled all payments and took back my deposit. but after i left the house i got a text message from the main tenant saying that i owe him RM80 for the light. to which i got very upset and ignored his calls and sms. my problem is that i want to know whether i should pay the rm80 or just continuing ignoring him? am i in the right or the wrong? because some of my friends say that just pay him the rm80 and be done with it, but to me, i didn't even spoil the light, why should i pay the damages? furthermore i already moved out shouldn't it be the current tenants responsibility?

sigh... need help on this matter...

tl;dr: main tenant wants me to pay rm80 for a light that i did not spoil.

Syabas water cut?

Hi everyone, as the title suggest, I want to know if anyone of you have experienced water cuts before your quota? I live in Puchong, and a few days back my water was cut off. I checked the meter out side and it read 154m3. So by right I still have 46m3 left to use right? I asked my neighbours but they said their water flow was fine. if it's a bill payment that I need to settle, should I be the one who pay or ask the landlord to pay? Because I don't mind paying first then ask the landlord to pay back. Just that dunno if I can pay the water bill if I'm not the owner of the house. Please help!

Renewing passport in Puchong.

As the title suggest, I just wanted to share my experience on how to renew ones passport in Puchong. Not many people know that there is a JPN office in Puchong, me included... The best part is that I stay in Puchong...

Please note that is is no a guide for KiPPas passport renewal. Just a normal renewal procedure.

The address of the office is:

67-69, Jalan PU 7/4,
Taman Puchong Utama,
47100 Puchong, Selangor

Tel. No.: 03-80683629

It's near Carrefour. I had some trouble trying to find it. So if all else fails just find Carrefour and ask the people around there.

There are few things that you need before going to the Immigration office:

1) old passport. Obviously, you need to have a passport before you can renew it right?

2) IC. Some forums suggest that you photostat front and back of your IC. In my case, this was not needed as the officer just needed my original IC.

3) passport photo. Now, this is tricky. Photos should follow the strict criteria and rules. The photos should have your ears visible. I don't know why this is. Maybe they're scared that some of us are aliens or something. Also be reminded for those who wear glasses. Your glasses must not be blocking your eyes when taking a photo. Your glasses should not reflect any light in the photo. Best thing to do is not wear your glasses lah... And lastly, you can't smile. Seriously, you can't. They say it contorts the facial features and is not acceptable. Guess Russell Peters was right.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that there is a photo studio right above the immigration office. They do a very professional job at taking passport photos. And it's only RM12 for 4 pieces.

4) Cash! $$$ Most important. RM150 for 2 years renewal. RM300 for 5 years.

Bus route to Subang Parade from Puchong?

Hi, I would like to know if there is a way to sit a bus from Puchong to Subang Parade/Empire area. I was told there used to be a mini bus service that goes through Subang, USJ, then Puchong but has been discontinued for quite some time. So I was wondering if anyone knows how to go to Subang Parade from Puchong by public transport other than taxi? Or if there even such a route. If not at least where to change bus. Please help me! Thank you in advance!
