Yamaha Zone2 question

I had just bought a RX-A2A to replace my broken RX-V677.

I would like to check if anyone have similar experience about setting Zone2.

I used SP1 for Zone 2 speaker output and it sounds correctly for pure music only.

But I also trying to connect an active subwoofer to Zone2 pre-out but it seems there is no output from pre-out? (my previous V677 do not have Zone2 pre-out)

may I check if it is possible have Speaker at SP1 and pre-out both same time on A2A?

buying a new car, Stinger or C200

i know this is very weird comparison, among Kia and Mercedes?

but after viewed both cars, I am very much into Stinger, 2.0t. although Kia do not provide test drive of it.
My wife are crazy about Mercs C200.

in easy summary below:

1. Kia Stinger 2.0t (RM239k)

littler bigger interior space
amazing outlook
fantastic interior
very nice infotainment system
decent safety features
tons of crazy customizing features

2. Mercs C200 Advangrate (RM259k)

well... a rather difficult or strange infotainment system
decent safety features

i am not really understand about how car value work and their resale value.

Yesterday, my wife car's battery was gone and cannot start, we staying in condominium, and we just move in here 1 year 2 months.

so my wife called some battery delivery services, the number which i found online and gave her, when he called that guy, that guy already know my wife's real name (even her Chinese name), and our address, our new condominium address!
this is first time we called their service!

so my wife asked him how come you know my name and address, he said "There is app on the phone!"

WTF, what do you guy think? what kind of app is that? how can our privacy is published without our consent?

if any of you want to validate this, i can gave you that phone number.

Unifi constant WAN drop, help!

I am on Unifi Pro 30Mbps.

below is the screen from Modem Huawei HG655m (not router), as you can see, my ADSL line is superb stable, no error no discard, it can run super stable for few weeks without the need to restart the Modem.

however, i am suffering for very frequent disconnecting issues from WAN (WiFi and LAN connection are all just fine, i can browse locally even if WAN was disconnected). all the time, when disconnect happen, the router still showing WAN is connected however all browsing to internet is not possible.

i tried 3 router (original TM provided TP-Link Archer C5, Netgear R7000 (tried original firmware, merlin, tomato, dd-wrt), and Xiaomi Router (original and tomato firmware).
but all result in same, random disconnect after few hours (usually between 3~6 hours). need to restart the router or reconnect manually to restore the WAN (no need to restart modem, so i believe this is not related to Modem).

i wanted to ask the TM guy to come and check, but however i doubt the disconnect will happen just when they come, making it difficult to diagnose.

any idea or suggestion? thanks!

Hi All,

I am currently using a Panasonic 42" Plasma full HD. i am happy with the picture and color, but it is a little hot.

so i decided to get a 60" LED Full HD. any recommendation?

so far i had visited the store and saw two model, a Panasonic RM3499 (200Hz) and a Sharp RM3250 (100Hz).

i can really see the refresh rate different, i understand that anything more than 60hz should not be noticeable by human eye, but somehow i can really see that the motion on 100hz is a little flickering compare to 200hz.

so i guess i will choose 200hz or above panel.

by budget is less than RM4000, i dont need 3D nor smarttv, i have a HTPC to take care the smart thing.

any recommendation of IPS LED backlit TV that do full hd, 200hz, and cost less than 4k?

how to make Zone2 to utilized my main active sub?

ok, my setup is as below:

Yamaha RX-V677 7.2amp
Wharfadele Obsidien 600 Hometheater Speaker
Acoustic Energy AE100i bookshelf speaker (currently connected to Zone2, only for music)
Pioneer S-MS3SW active subwoofer

My question is, I want to use my AE100i for music only, but Zone2 seems that the bass is being filtered? i dont get much bass from Zone2, connecting to Main I get a much better range of music experience.

So now i thinking to make my Pioneer sub to provide bass for my zone2, however my sub donot have different input selector nor high lever input.

I am thinking, maybe there is some crossover out there that could solve my problem? my idea is Zone2 high level output to crossover, and from crossover, the high filter go to AE100i, while the low filter go to another input switch selector. simpler diagram as below (i hope this diagram not going to make me looks like a fool..... lol)

Do anyone know is this type of crossover are available in KL? any recommendation? thank you.

regarding Pioneer S-MS3SW subwoofer

my setup is as below:

Yamaha RX-V677 AV Receiver

Pioneer S-MS3SW subwoofer

my problem is, there is some strange sound coming from the subwoofer, it is not loud but hearable during quiet or night time. the sound is like any ampplifier when your touched the input connector with your finger, and you will hear some very low frequency engine like sounds.

i am wondering is this normal for this type of subwoofer? i am sure the noise is from subwoofer it self, even i power off and disconnected all orther component and only power on the subwoofer, this noise is coming out when i set it to high volume.

kindly comments, i just got this subwoofer yesterday, if this is not normal i will request to change.
