I got all of the above but dont know which to buy ati 4870 or 4870 x2. Which is better for multimedia student purposes. Do graphic card effect any of the multimedia work?

Can any pros out there tell me? Ati 4870 x2 better for multimedia or Sli 295 better. Plz tell me. I want buy but dont know which is better. Can the pros tell me why its better also. I still noob at choosing which to buy. Thanks.

Prefer: Amd
The graphic card can be either Ati or Nvidia( Plz recommend the best for multimedia)

Including LCD monitor 24'
Without Speaker, Mouse, and Keyboard.

I want to buy a multimedia(more important)/gaming rig but not good at it. So seeking recommendation from pros.
