Scratch defects on new iPad

Hi guys, I followed my friend to Machines to get his new iPad and his unit is fine and well except that we found a 0.3-0.4cm scratch on the back of the iPad on its lower right side.

This scratch was noticed even before it was taken out of the plastic wrap that accompanies the ipad unit. The Machines agent said that they are unlikely to swap for another unit due to just a scratch. As other part of the iPad was well and the display was almost flawless, we decided to keep it.

After googling online, i realised alot of buyers actually experience similar "black scratches" too. The lines are always linear and vertical some as short as 0.2cm to one inch! Apple UK have done refund, exchanges and even rebates on the matter.

just want to know if anyone here experienced similar issues and did anyone asked for an exchange?

Thanks!

[WTA] Help on Line Out Dock problem for iProducts

Greetings fellow audiophiles. Help is needed.

Recently I started investing in headlamps and desktops amps to
be connected to my iPhone and iPad. I also purchased the Crossroads LOD with the thought of enhancing my listening experience.

Unfortunately, when I tried connect the iPad to the LOD and then hook it to my Active PC Speakers, I hit some problem. The iPad registers it as Dock Connector and there is sound but the right channel seems clear while the left channel is muddled and distorted. Same thing happens to my iPhone 4. I tried 2 pc speakers and both produced the same results. If I bypass the LOD and connect direct to the headphone out, both channels are normal.

Has anyone experienced this? Pls advice. Tq

[SOLVED] Disappointing Experience in ViewNet

----SOLVED-----

ViewNet promptly attended to my problem and a full refund has been given. This is a very commendable feat from their part. ViewNet is indeed miles ahead of their competitors. Do keep it up! Thank you.

-----------------------------------------------------------

For starters, let me state that before this happened, I always viewed ViewNet as the most recommended shop in Lowyat Plaza. The amount of items I personally bought from them in the last 2 months can easily amount to the thousands. That's not including the many purchases from my friends and family whom I recommended them to go over to ViewNet whenever they needed something IT.

I loved ViewNet for numerous things. No credit card surcharge, 7 day items exchange and superbly friendly customer service. To cut it short, they were any consumer's dream retail outlet.

All that turned sour during my most recent purchase.

Less than a week back, I bought 2 units of Asus HD6950s from ViewNet. The sales guy attending to me was pleasant and very helpful. The sales went on fine and all was good as usual. Back home, upon using the cards, I felt they were unable to cope with my demands. As I worked in Seremban, I called ViewNet up to enquire if it was possible for me to upgrade to 2 units of HD6990 instead. The same salesguy attended to me and he stated that there wasnt any issue if the items were returned to them in full complete package and with receipt within 7 dsys. Now, I am very particular about my gadgets and the cards were in pristine condition so I promptly told him to reserve 2 units of HD6990 and that I will come from Seremban to do the exchange immediately. He did inform me that they only had one unit of HD6990 in stock and so the plan was for me to change the 2 cards for that unit and top up the rest in cash. At this point, I was very happy that ViewNet offered such amazing services. I mentally told myself to give them some positive feedback here in lowyat when im done collecting the card.

Alas, upon reaching ViewNet, things started to take a down turn. When I opened the HD6990 box to check the card and contents, i noticed one of the cables is not sealed. The wrapping of the card was also opened but I thought that was a must when they opened to check the card n placed warranty stickers. I noted this to the salesguy that this may have been used but he instead stated that they did open the box to show the card to customers but it was otherwise unused. I wasnt going to argue to that as I felt that was something acceptable to do. I then did the exchange and went home with the card.

Back home is when the nightmare started. Before I even plugged in the card, I realised that this card was indeed used. For starters, the protective bios sticker was removed before. The bios switch was not in the default position. Whats worst was... the driver CD was definitely not for the HD6990. It was written NVIDIA Drivers! What the heck is a Nvidia driver CD doing in a NEW package of an AMD ATI graphic card? This may sound like a small thing to many. its just a driver CD to which I can easily download from the internet but please let me state, the card cost more than RM2K! It isnt small money. I dont expect this to happen when I pay so much money for something.

In all, I still hold much confidence to ViewNet and Ive already SMSed the salesgyuy for a solution but I decided to post this experience here in hope that someone from ViewNet can read and lend a helping hand. I feel I dont deserve such a treatment and noone should. To pay so much money and travel so far and waste so much time to get something that is used for the price of a new unit is utterly disappointing.

Dear readers, I dont expect all of you to share my predicament and thoughts but do give some advice as to how I should go about handling this matter. If anyone is kind enough to point me to ViewNet's manager, I would be very grateful for that.

Tomorrow, I will be again travelling to KL to ViewNet to see if this matter can be solved. I hope ViewNet will not disappoint me as based on the threads here, another customer had the same problem and they did replace him with an entirely new unit.

Tq

WTA - Itunes Downloads

Ok, just got into the Ipod Touch 2Gen bandwagon and got an account in Itunes US.

Im really new to this itunes Store and downloads. Im just wondering, once Ive downloaded the application, say for example a Game, where is it stored in the computer? What I mean is, can I actually search for the file n copy it out n keep it so that next time I can reinstall it into my ipod Touch as many times as I want. Is tht possible?
