TM Unifi Latency Change

Hey,

I wanted to ask if anyone here knows how to get the latency type of the Unifi connection switched to FAST-TYPE ...as I'm pretty sure its on interleaved by default!

I am using the ASUS RT N-16 ... and I don't really know how to access the BTU to check the current latency type.

If possible, provide solution or guide in the right direction.

Much appreciated...

Why MY internet gets high pings overseas?

Broadband provider
ISP/package: TM / UniFi VIP20
Location: Puchong
Have you called your ISP's helpline?: Yes! It's like talking to a wall!

Personal equipment
Modem: HUAWEI HG655a
Router: ASUS RT-N16
Firewall used: Yes

Hey Guys,

I'm from Pakistan and currently living in Malaysia. I have UniFi 20mb package and its been great! I get 1.8-2.3 Mbps download/upload speeds and great pings for online gaming in the SEA region..

My problem is that my friends back home (Pakistan) host a dedicated server for a game! This server is supposed to give me 120-150ms ping! Now normally I get around 350+ on Pakistani hosts.

I understand that pings are dependent on physical distance but I saw another Malaysian player on the same server with 120ms ping. Now I believe i have one of the best internet packages Malaysia has to offer, then why would I be getting such a high ping? If there are any tweaks i can make to the router or modem settings to improve this issue, I would much appreciate the help!

I have forwarded all ports for the game, made sure nothing else is using up the bandwidth an all the basic checks i need to make! Still I would appreciate if you can make a short checklist, in case I'm overlooking something!

I have provided my location and equipment details, if any other details are required, please let me know! I would like to solve this issue as soon as possible, as there is a tournament coming up and I would like to take part!

[For those who are curious - the game is Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2]

Thanks..
