MidValley Dog Sports Show, Pet World 2009 3-5 July

The main event in the K9 calendar is set to feature again at Malaysia's premier shopping mall - The Mid Valley Megamall, as part of the Pet World Malaysia show. Prime location plus air conditioned comfort for you and your 4-legged friend. Featuring a variety of pet products and exhibition booths, enticing doggie games, challenging OB and Agility trials, plus a grooming competition (dog grooming competition is on 3 July 2009). Cat, rabbit and fish displays and competitions will also be running at the same time at adjoining halls, hence there are lots to see, experience and learn.

Includes the ever absorbing PetnYou Dog Agility and Obedience Trials over the weekend of 4 - 5 July. OB trials encompass Pre-novice, Novice, Intermediate and Open levels. Agility trials will be running Basic Jumpers, Jumpers With Weaves, Novice, Gamblers and Snooker edition. New Toy class will feature in agility trials to give an opportunity for small breeds to excel. The trials will be held in the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre main hall, so conditions are ideal to bring out your dog's best performance. The competition should be stirring and designed to showcase your dog's innate abilities and prowess. Based on prior year’s experience, spectator interest is expected to huge and the atmosphere can be stimulating.

In addition, the K9 Games are open to all dogs and no registration nor fees are required. Just turn up during the games slot to have fun. We look forward to your continued participation in the coming trials and games, which will go a long way in promoting dog sports and as well as the integration of dogs in our society.

Happy CNY! PetnYou goes regional with the next agility trials scheduled to be held in the Kulai IOI Mall shopping centre, Johor. PetnYou is keen to promote dog sports throughout the country and look forward to your participation in the coming trials, which will go some way to kick start agility sport in the southern region.

The 6th and 7th agility trials will run on Saturday, 14 March 2009 in the main concourse area of the mall. Venue is large, air-conditioned, comfortable and suited for dog sports. Hence, spectator interest is expected to be encouraging. The back-to-back trials will feature Basic Jumpers, Novice Agility and Gamblers class for both Mini and Maxi dogs. Proposed show programme is as follows:

This year's theme for Dogathon is 'AEROSPACE -Astronaut, Asteroid, Astrodogs', so do come in your futuristic best.Hugely popular event in the K9 calender to be held UPM, Serdang on Sunday, 10 August 2008.

AGILITY TRIALS - Also featuring PetnYou 5th Agility trials comprising of Basic Jumpers, Elementary & Novice categories for both mini and maxi classes. First time ever that proper, competitive agility trials are being held as part of the annual Dogathon activities and PetnYou are proud to be associated with this exclusive event.

Dogathon has always attracted a large following amongst dogs and dog lovers. The grounds is massive and suited for dog sports and agility enthusiasts should be in for a swell time.

Eukanuba/PetnYou Dog Carnival n 3rd Agility & OB trials.
Sunday morning 9 September 2007, Bandar Utama Central Park

The Carnival is back in town! Be prepared for more exciting K9 X-games, dog sports and trials at the annual Carnival for dogs and dog lovers. Clowns, balloon sculpting and face painting are amongst the attractions on the day. Vets, groomers and dog rescue groups will also be making an appearance. The Dog Carnival is an eagerly anticipated event in the K9 calendar with challenging trials and enticing games lined up to showcase your dog's talents and innate abilities.

THE TRIALS
The Carnival includes the ever absorbing PetnYou 3rd Dog Agility and OB trials. OB trials encompass pre-novice till open levels. Agility trials will be running basic jumpers and novice levels, including a new gamblers class as a novelty event. Gamblers class is another exciting off-shoot of agility sport whereby teams score points for performing selected obstacles and then have a chance to double the points by performing the gamble ie. sequence of 4-5 obstacles set at distance from the handler.

To encourage dog sports in the country, fees are set at a very affordable RM10 one-off registration fee + RM10 per challenge entry. The top 3 teams at each level will be bringing home trophies and prizes, courtesy of Eukanuba.

K9 X-GAMES
To cater to all, the K9 X-games are open to all dogs and each game also comes with 3 swell prizes which are up for grabs. Best of all, there are no entrance fees and dogs can get stuck into as many contests as they wish. Most of the games are making their debut in the Dog Carnival and the fun factor is set on Xtreme. So bring along your party tricks and gear as we celebrate the natural abilities and prowess of dogs.

Dog Sports n activities

Tired of grooming n d traditional heel, sit n stay routine. Yes, besides being cute n obedient, ur dog possesses a wide range of natural talents and abilities just waiting 2 b unleashed . If u r looking 4 something more interactive, entertaining n certainly more fun 2 b had with ur pooch, here r some dog sports 2 get into.

Agility - Great 4 active mutts who luv 2 climb n jump all over d home furniture. D only discipline dat actually encourages dogs 2 hurtle at great speeds n scramble over playground like obstacles. Can start with homemade obstacles (eg. PVC hurdles n bamboo weave poles) but 4 d real equipt, u'll need 2 get in touch with d training schools.

Flyball - 1 for d speed demons. Race between 2 relay teams of 4 dogs each, hurdling over 4 low jumps to catch a tennis ball popping out from d flyball box n hurdling back over d jumps with ball in mouth. D flyball box is a rarity here. Without box, can still practice fetching n retrieving ball over hurdles.

Frisbee - Minimal equipt required. Frisbee + jumpy n agile dog = Disc dog. D ideal game 2 b playing in a park or beach setting, very cool indeed.

Musical freestyle - No equipt required, only music n a fairly attentive dog. Great 4 K9s who luv 2 mirror ur moves n perform tricks. Involves a choreographed set of moves (weaving, spinning, side steps) n tricks performed 2 music 2 gv d impression dat u n ur dog r dance partners, sweet.

Granted v arent blessed with dog friendly parks/facilities + d constant humid weather, v still owe it 2 our loyal 4-legged frens 2 indulge in plenty of play n exercise outdoors. Remember why u got a dog in d 1st place ...
