why our ASEAN neighbors hate us?
Aceh rebels helped by Malaysia, Southern Thailand rebels helped by Malaysia...and Philippines rebels also helped by Malaysia...

No wonder they hate us so much.... and we're still clueless?

WikiLeaks: Libya used Sabah to arm PHL Moro rebels in 1970s
April 12, 2013 4:50pm

Sabah had played a big role in the rise of Muslim secessionist movement in Mindanao in the 1970s when it was used as conduit in the smuggling of arms from Libya to southern Philippines, according to declassified cables published by WikiLeaks.

According to two cables, former Sabah chief minister Tun Mustapha facilitated the arms smuggling from Libya, then ruled by military dictator Muammar Gaddafi, to Mindanao to arm Moro rebels there in the hope that it will force the Philippines to abandon its claim to Sabah. :bash:

A cable dated April 17, 1976, quoted then-Sabah chief minister Tun Fuad as saying that it was “no secret” that his predecessor, Mustapha, supplied arms to Philippine guerrillas.

http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/story/30358...rebels-in-1970s
Indon Cainis get more and more political roles

interesting!

Chinese-Indonesians, agents of change — Sylvie Tanaga

FEBRUARY 10, 2013

FEB 10 — Chinese, young, fresh, phenomenal, brave and non-Muslim Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok (Zhong Wan Xie) managed to captivate the hearts of a Muslim majority to win the regent post in East Belitung. Seven years later on October 7, 2012, he took office as the deputy governor of Jakarta, accompanying Joko Widodo.

It is one of the landmarks in this country’s political history, which became possible after Indonesia adopted laws that protect the rights of minorities.

After going through a long period of discrimination, Chinese-Indonesians finally breathed the air of freedom when fourth president, the late Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) declared Chinese New Year as a national holiday through Religious Affairs Ministry Decree No. 13/2001 and repealed Government Regulation No. 14/1967 that banned Chinese-Indonesian cultural activities.

Law No. 40/2008 on the elimination of racial and ethnic discrimination complements the previous regulations, although the law does not only refer to the ethnic Chinese. Discrimination may still occur as a change of mindset will take time, but legal protection has already been put in place. There are sanctions for offenders.

Ahok’s election as Jakarta deputy governor shows the efficacy of Chinese-Indonesians’ freedom to work, including in the socio-political field which was practically taboo during the New Order. The next question is, why Ahok is so phenomenal and perhaps outshines Kwik Kian Gie, the first Chinese-Indonesian minister since the rise of New Order, and Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Mari Elka Pangestu?

There is no definitive answer to this question, but we can see some differences. First, Kwik and Mari are publicly known for their opinions while Ahok was virtually a nobody. Ahok was not even recognised by Jakarta residents before running for the deputy governor post. Second, Ahok is young and fresh, the preferred type of leader today.

Third, you can see how Ahok initiated an astounding breakthrough, which has become apparent since he took office. He has the charisma of a young man who dares to take a different, tough decision and make changes although they may cause resentment among people who are not ready to accept his initiatives.

At the same time, he does not care about his minority status, which the public appreciates very much. The issue is not ethnicity but how he can work to fulfil public expectations for the future. In doing so he manages to stave off negative comments.

Let’s take a look at another exemplary Chinese-Indonesian figure. Early in December, singer Agnes Monica delivered an opening speech at the Global Youth Forum 2012 in Bali. Her seven-minute speech captivated international youth audiences and whoever saw her speak.

I am spellbound when Agnes explains how she dares to dream big and go forward even though the world around deems her as arrogant. Agnes has proven herself. Hard work led her to collaboration with Timbaland — a famous American record producer, songwriter and rapper. Agnes is one of only a few Indonesian singers who have successfully built co-operation with international singers.

There are many other young Chinese-Indonesians who do not consider themselves victims of discrimination. They work for the nation in diverse fields: economic, cultural, entertainment, education, social and even political. Most of them are unknown, but they continue working without expecting returns. They break the stigma that Chinese-Indonesians crave only profits.

There are many social organisations and groups, in which millions of Chinese-Indonesians are involved, extending humanitarian services to people. We cannot deny either the achievement of many Chinese-Indonesians who have donned national colours in international competitions, either in science or sports.

No one can choose the ethnicity they are born with. The fact that I showcase the aforementioned achievements does not mean the Chinese-Indonesian ethnicity is superior or deserves more attention because they suffered discrimination for a long time in the past.

My point is Chinese-Indonesians are an integral part of Indonesia’s struggle for national glory and at the same time promote diversity in accordance with the national motto Bhinneka Tunggal Ika or “Unity in Diversity”. In this case, the Chinese-Indonesian younger generation has to play a key role.

As agents of change, young Chinese-Indonesians have to work hand in hand with other ethnic groups in pushing the nation towards progress. Chinese New Year is the right moment for all Chinese-Indonesians and the entire nation to celebrate diversity and craft a new strategy to help Indonesia prepare a better future.

* This is the personal opinion of the writer or publication and does not necessarily represent the views of The Malaysian Insider.

Indon Produces Electric Cars by 2013

Indonesia Aims to Launch Electric Car Production in 2013

sos http://evworld.com/news.cfm?newsid=28349

State-Owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan said on Monday that the country can begin mass production of the national electric car as early as next year after doing a test drive of its prototype on Monday.

“If the infrastructure is ready, we can start mass producing the car with a capacity of 5,000 units per year,” he claimed.

The minister drove the prototype of the Ahmadi Mesin 5.0 electric car, which was named after its maker Dasep Ahmadi, 48 kilometers from its garage at Jati Mulya, on the outskirts of Jakarta, to the Research and Technology Ministry building on Jalan Thamrin in Central Jakarta.

The prototype so far only has a local police road certificate since regulations on taxes and registrations for electric vehicles, which do not fall under existing categories, have yet to be put in place.

Dahlan said President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has already instructed the ministers for industry, research and technology and trade to work on the necessary regulations.

“Within the next three months, there should be a clear technical guide for commercial regulations, so that the car can be mass produced,” Dahlan said.

Besides Ahmadi’s electric car, there are four other versions in the final stages of completion under the minibus, city car and sports car categories.

Out of 4 versions, these are the minibus versions:

Indonesia Lend Money to IMF!

Indonesia to Loan Up to $1b to IMF

The Indonesian government announced on Thursday that it would channel up to $1 billion in loans to the International Monetary Fund, honoring an earlier declared commitment to support the institution’s funding.

Indonesian Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo said Indonesia, along with other nations of the G-20 economic group, had agreed last week to support the IMF during the G-20 Summit in Los Cabos, Mexico.

“Indonesia will also contribute to the capital of the institution,” Agus said in Jakarta.

He added that the IMF, which Indonesia is a member of, has collected some $430 billion in similar commitments.

Agus said the funds would not only be channeled to ailing Europe, but also to developing countries, in anticipation of another global economic crisis.

“And this is a good opportunity for Indonesia to tell [the world] of our improving condition. We got a loan from the IMF in 2006, but we’ve returned it.”

Agus added that the government had yet to decide how much it would lend to the IMF, but that the amount would not exceed $1 billion.

He also said the funds would not come from the state budget, but from Indonesia’s foreign exchange reserves.

“When we hand down the loan to the IMF, the fund will remain in Indonesia’s foreign exchange reserve balance, but it will be reported as being partly stationed at the IMF.”

Investor Daily

SOS
http://www.thejakartaglobe.com/home/indone...b-to-imf/527337
[/QUOTE]

[addedon]June 28, 2012, 9:07 pm[/addedon]they are poorfags who borrow money from IMF not so long ago

Malaysia is the MOST CORRUPT country

Malaysia is the most corrupt country except OPEC in the world

Set aside a few OPEC oil exporting countries in Middle East and other continents, Malaysia is the number one corrupt nation in the world, followed by Russia.

For the period between 2000 to 2009, the outflow illicit money excluding pricing transfer per capita is summarized here,

Malaysia illicit outflows Per capita: US$ 5320 [RM 16529]

Russia illicit outflows Per Capita: US$ 3232.8

Philippines illicit outflows Per Capita: US$ 1512.7

Thailand illicit outflows Per Capita: US$ 1011

Mexico illicit outflows Per Capita: US$ 755

Indonesia illicit outflows Per capita: US$ 383

China illicit outflows Per capita: US$ 267

In term of $ per capita, Malaysia is about 20 times more corrupt than China and 16.5 times more corrupt than Indonesia

In term of absolute value, total illicit outflow black money during 2000-09 is RM 479.35 billion.

Malaysia government has to rely on borrowings to meet its deficit budgets.
Asia leads World Economy 2012

Asia to power world economy in 2012: ADB
Associated Press, 26 Jan 2012 | 11:00 AM

The global economic slowdown will affect Asia this year but the region will remain the economic powerhouse of the world, led by China, India and Indonesia, the head of the Asian Development Bank said.

Haruhiko Kuroda said in an interview with The Associated Press on Wednesday the bank expects Asian economies — excluding Japan, Australia and New Zealand — to grow by around 7 percent this year, down from about 7.5 percent in 2011 and 9 percent in 2010.

His slightly less rosy forecast was in sharp contrast to the gloomy International Monetary Fund announcement Tuesday that it was cutting its forecast for global economic growth this year to 3.3 percent from 4 percent because of a slowdown in the world economy and the likelihood of a mild recession in Europe.

Kuroda said regional and domestic demand in Asia are still "fairly robust" though external demand is lower "so GDP growth as a whole is also slowing."

He said Asia has already been affected by the ongoing European financial crisis in two ways — through the withdrawal of credit in Asia by many European banks and financial institutions and a drop in trade, which will impact China because Europe is its largest export market.

"If the situation further deteriorates seriously, that could affect Asia," Kuroda said. "So I really hope that the European financial crisis can be overcome."

Nonetheless, Kuroda predicted that China will continue to lead Asia's growth in 2012, expanding its economy by more than 8 percent, followed by India at between 7-8 percent and Indonesia at around 6.5 percent.

The Asian Development Bank or ADB has 48 members and while most developing countries have a strong financial sector and reasonably good public sector, some have serious fiscal deficits like Pakistan, where huge floods have devastated the economy, he said.

sos:
http://profit.ndtv.com/News/Article/asia-t...2012-adb-296596

Malaysia is going bankrupt?

Towards a bankrupt Malaysia?

Tuesday, 27 December 2011

Subramaniam Pillay looks at the worrying rising trend of federal government debt and wonders if Malaysia will go bankrupt. At our current rate of borrowing, it won’t take long before we become another Greece.

That the budget that was tabled in the Dewan Rakyat on 7 October 2011 was an election budget is very clear. There have been numerous detailed comments on the budget by politicians and analysts (since then). In this article, we are just going to focus on one of the long term issues from the budget. It concerns the increasing debt burden of the federal government.

How big is the government debt?

The accompanying chart shows the federal government’s outstanding debt at the end of the successive years. As can be seen, the debt has been increasing since 1970. From the detailed data available form Bank Negara’s website, in 1991, it reached a temporary peak of RM99bn and then decreased to RM90bn by 1997. From then, it has been virtually doubling every five years. By the end of 2011, we can expect the figure to reach RM450bn.

In other words, since the Asian crisis of 1998, we have been growing by borrowing heavily. In the 10 years since 1999, our debt has quadrupled. If we continue on this path, by 2020, our national debt will reach RM1.6 trillion. If our population is 40 million then, each Malaysian will have a debt burden of more than RM40000 and this does not include our own personal borrowing. Assuming an interest rate of 5 per cent, paying the interest alone will cost the taxpayers RM80bn per year!

The government has been reassuring us by saying that our debt is manageable. It argues that the debt at the end of 2012 will be only 54 per cent of our GDP, which is relatively low compared to the current crisis nations like Greece and Italy. (GDP is a measure of the total value of all the goods and services produced in a year in the country.) While it may not reach the levels of Greece by 2012, at our current rate of borrowing it won’t take long before we become another Greece. Just to put this in perspective, our giant neighbour, Indonesia has a debt of only 23 per cent of GDP! Singapore has no debts.

more can be read at:
http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/sidevie...amaniam-pillay/
