Possible Motherboard Issue

Hi,

Yesterday, my PC suddenly shut down while using, and couldn't power up when pressing the power switch.

What I have tested:
> PSU (bridged the power & GND and switched it on, its fan and a fan connected to it started spinning)
> Connected PSU to motherboard and switched it on, the mobo light turned on
> Quickly jumped the motherboard power switch pins with a screwdriver with the PSU connected and turned on, nothing happens (even the PSU fan did not run) although the mobo light is on
> Removed CMOS battery for more than 5 minutes, placed it back and tried powering on (switch & jump pins)
> Checked CMOS voltage with a multimeter (it's ~3V)
> I have 2 RAM sticks, tried to power on PC with 1 RAM (tried both sticks, also tried with different RAM slots) but it didn't power on

What I checked
> 4/8-pin CPU power connector located near the CPU socket is plugged in
> standoffs placed correctly under the motherboard
> video card is fully seated with all power connectors connected to the PSU
> no loose or jamemd screws or similar materials

Do you know what else to do to fix or what the problem is?
My guess is the CPU died since the motherboard has light when the PSU is plugged in. Can't think of any other possibilities.

[SOLVED] Unable to re-Install Windows

Hi there,

I have a desktop computer with 2 hard disks, one SATA and the other SSD.

I seem to have:
Windows 64 Ultimate installed in the SATA,
but the SSD seems to be the bootable media (tested by removing the SSD; computer refuses to boot due to missing media but is able to boot after plugging back the SSD).

I have been trying to install Windows in the SSD:

~ When boot from the flash drive, this happened: A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing (not sure what driver they are referring to)
~~ The USB is @ the USB 2.0 port -- I've also tried plug-unplug

Two PC Issues

Here are a list of my issues:

#1: Windows booting up from another hard disk
> Formerly I installed Windows @ my internal SSD, recently I installed Windows 7 in an internal SATA HDD but the boot is still from the SSD (in disk management, there is one partition of the SSD which is Healthy (EFI System Partition))
> I tried booting up Windows 7 installer (after failing, tried Linux Mint through both Rufus and Unetbootin) from USB pendrive to install in another internal SATA HDD but it 'jumped' to the SSD Windows boot manager and boots Windows from there (I think?) and doesn't seem to boot from the pendrive (tried other pendrives and external HDD)
> The boot option menu when selected during startup ALWAYS points to the SSD
> I tried using EasyBCD: Install BCD @ the SATA with Windows, it stated that it's not Primary, but in Disk Management it shows Primary

#2: Disk Initialization I/O Error
> I connected an internal SATA HDD and in disk management, it shows "The Request could not be performed because of an i/o device error" when I tried to initialize it.

Hi there,

I've been having issues with my PC.

> Memory: 2x Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM

The Issue
After I installed Windows 10 Pro,
Issue: Whenever I run most apps, they take a while to forever to start

After reverting to Windows 7 Professional,
Issue: unable to read USB (such as attached flash drive, printer with USB, etc. butUSB mouse and USB keyboard can be read perfectly)

Could the issue be due to the possible remains of the old Windows installs (installs prior to the Windows 10) in the SSD?
If so, how do I clear them? If not, what could be the cause?

Note: both installed Windows are legally licensed.

with the remaining parts to be used for PC2 'upgrade' - if you have a better suggestion, what will the recommended builds (and recommendations) be?
> Able to control both PCs with a single monitor, mouse and keyboard. I'm not sure if ShareMouse can do that with a single monitor (I prefer not to use a KVM switch)

It MUST be capable of being turned on 24/7 without damage (long term, as with my current build - not including PSU damage and lightning/overcurrent; sorry I can't explain well).

Please advise on what can be sustained and the necessary improvements required.
Budget: RM4000(OK to fork out more if necessary, of course lesser is better)

Also please inform if now is a bad time to purchase and when will the better/good time be (seeing as since the sharp drop of the ringgit...)?

My current one (Sony Bravia, Model: KDL-32R420B) has been hurting my eyes in the past few weeks.

I checked and it can be scrapped off, similar to hardened sand. This was the "leftover" somewhat:

Looks to me like the pins from the connectors are stuck to the ports. If that is the case (or not), how shall it be rectified?

Also I do not want to open it as I do not know how and do not want to incur additional possible damage. The item in question is a 40" TOSHIBA 40CV700E LCD TV

msconfig -> Boot tab -> Advanced options... -> Unchecked Maximum memory -> Restart

Possibilities (if true, how do I go about in rectifying it/them?):
