Four-year-old boy injures testicles

GEORGE TOWN: A four-year-old boy seriously injured his testicles and left thigh after he fell on a steel piling rod while playing at a construction site with his friends at Kampung Masjid in Jalan Perak here.

Mikhail Irfan Muhamad Sofian was given four stitches for the injuries sustained during the incident at about 6pm on Thursday.

Mohd Azahari Mohd Rasrizal, 12, who witnessed the incident, said Mikhail Irfan was running before he fell on the piling rod.

“He was crying and there was blood. I ran to his house and informed his grandfather,” he said.

The boy's grandfather, Zainol Sulaiman, 61, said he had lodged a police report, urging the developer to take the necessary safety measures to prevent a similar incident for occuring.

“My grandson and his friends usually play there.

“The almost 20cm piling rod has been there for about four months.

“But my grandson was unlucky and fell on it,” he told reporters when met at his house. - Bernama

Karaoke owner: Maid killed my dog

PETALING JAYA: A karaoke owner has alleged that her maid killed her dog after getting angry when it urinated inside the house.

Khor Chung, 54, claimed that her foreign maid was seen beating the five-year-old female dog called Money in a CCTV recording on Thursday.

“When I left my house at 1pm, my dog was still active. Two hours later, I received a call from my maid and she was crying. She said my dog had died,” she said.

Khor said she returned to her house in Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur, to find Money, a Yorkshire Terrier, lying lifeless under her bed.

“When I checked the CCTV recording in my house, my maid was seen beating the dog with her bare hands. After that, she carried the dog into the toilet. The camera does not capture what happens inside so I don't know what she did. But she came out of the toilet without Money,” said Khor.

She further alleged that the maid did not bother to check on the dog in the toilet but went on to shower and eat.

After watching the video, Khor confronted the 22-year-old maid and asked: “Why did you beat my dog?”

The maid allegedly knelt down while crying and said: “I'm sorry. I didn't mean for it to happen.”

Khor said a friend helped her to lodge a police report at the Jalan Travers police station.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Muhammad Azlee Abdullah confirmed receiving a police report on the matter. He said the maid was being remanded to assist in investigations.
