PC DEPOT Penang, bad customer service

I honestly must rant about the service of PC DEPOT.

It started this morning when I was there this morning to get an external hard drive.
Got to the door gonna go in, a pretty obese guy in spec stopped me.

"there's 5 more mins before we open" ..

Riggghhhtt.. I understand the need for punctuality, but if the sales ppl are just standing there idle while i look at them and they looking blankly elsewhere, I can't see the reason why not letting me in a wee bit earlier ..

Well, it's just a 5 mins wait. No big deal, just mildly amused with it.

Got in and Mr Big Size from earlier came and served me.
He has this dour face look, and he's doing this role reversal thing.
It's like me being the sales person instead and he wanna be the grumpy customer.

It's ok, we meet ppl like this everyday.
Like when trying to get MPPP getting things settled, going to TNB..

Finally Mr Lard-face recommended a WD external drive with some dodgy casing.
Initially insisted it's gonna be a PATA, only changed his tune after I pointed out that the price in the catalog is for a SATA.
Agreed on the price and Mr Lard-face proceed to dump everything into a plastic bag.

MR LARD : "We don't do installation. We only sell hardware."

Woah, my lid just blew off.
I am suppose to install the HDD myself ? it's not that hard for them to do it rite ?
Gave him a pretty strong advise on how to provide end-to-end retail support and he was just like yeah, yeah, I have seen it all.

With great reluctance, like he's gonna sell off his mother, he installed the HDD.

ME : "Hey, are you gonna test this for me ?"

MR LARD : "That'll cost you RM 20 service fee to do that"

ME : "...."

ME : "Are you the boss around here ?"

MR LARD : "No, I am just the employee"

OHHH OKAY, that figures.

i hope your boss read about your attempt to sabotage his shop.
if that doesn't happen, maybe the cholesterol in your artery might get to you first.
