A Brand New Platform for Social Welfare Projects

In Malaysia, from the numerous talks and discussions we have with project organizers and the average Malaysian on the ground, when we talk about social welfare projects, 3 distinct disparities exist.

For project organizers, in most cases, they see the problem, they know the solution and thus they created a project to help overcome that issue. However, in the real world, just having great ideas for a project is only part of the equation. There are 3 other critical items needed which are financial support, publicity and participants.

For the avid and caring Malaysians that would like to contribute back to society and help out in some social welfare projects, the key thing lacking is information. Take for example, student A is really keen in participating in a poverty project near her area. She went online and searching in Google for Poverty project in her location. However, sadly, even after 3 hours of searching, the result she got back is either nil or the information in the website is long obsolete.

For the corporates and private citizens who wish to contribute and fund projects, they become skeptical at times due to the large amount of fraud projects outside, and also a lack of information to find the project that best suits their desire.

Due to these 3 distinct reasons, it resulted in many social welfare projects either never had the chance to get off the ground or it never had the opportunity to reach its real potential.

But today, through the establishing of WelfareProjects.org, we are able to introduce a few measures that will help solve all the above problems. This will act as the National Central Database for Social Welfare Projects in Malaysia.

Our vision is to make WelfareProjects.org as the one stop center of information, and have all Malaysian social welfare project, either private or from the NGOs, registering their projects under the this, helping us keep track of all projects that have been organized or is being organized, and also enabling Malaysians that want to make a difference, to easily find information that they need in the shortest time possible.

For example, now, when student A want to search for a poverty project near her area, she just need to visit WelfareProjects.org, click on the categories tab, select Poverty, then choose her state, for example Selangor. Then a pop up will appear showing her all the projects’ summary for her to make her selection.

Now, instead of spending 3 hours and getting nowhere, with WelfareProjects.org, it only takes her around 5 minutes to get the information she needs.

For project organizer, WelfareProjects.org will help them solve the issue regarding publicity and getting the participants.

With the implementation of a search bar, corporate and individual can easily search for projects that suit their strategy and goals, and contact the project organizer directly to talk about sponsorship and support that they desire to contribute. And they will be able to do this with a peace of mind, because projects listed on WelfareProjects.org would have gone through screening, ensuring all projects are legit.

With this, we, together with all of you reading this, will be able to help change the social welfare landscape in Malaysia.

We are currently doing beta testing on the site and would welcome all to come in and test it out and provide us with feedback so we can make this platform even better.

We also hope that welfare projects organizer would utilize our platform and post their social project. Let us know how u feel about the whole process and workflow.

You can go to this link for the article that came out yesterday on The Star regarding this new platform and it's founder.
http://rage.com.my/writeups/story.asp?file...36&sec=features

INSPIRING more people to give back to society,

Giving the needy people a chance of HOPE,

TOGETHER,

Working towards a BETTER Malaysia!!
Welfare Projects Malaysia

AT&T VPN Trouble

Hi

I keep having problem with my VPN.

I'm using 2 laptops at work. Connect through lan cable. One is from the office, one is my own, which is running windows 7.
The work laptop connects fine to VPN at my clients place.
However, the personal laptop with windows 7 can't connect and keep giving me this message:

---------------------------
AT&T Global Network Client
---------------------------
The connection timed out waiting for the VPN server to respond. This can occur if your computer is behind a firewall that does not permit UDP or IPSec traffic. Contact your local network administrator for assistance. (229)
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

But oddly, at home, when I connect through wifi, no problem for VPN.

any ideas guru?
And when startup I can chose either to boot from which OS.

Anyone done this before?

Arigato first....

DVi to HDMI Connector Will it work on Plasma?

Hi, I was thinking of linking up my desktop which have a 8800GTS graphic card to my HD ready Plasma TV.

But as my graphic card don't support HDMI only purely DVI... I was thinking of getting the adapter.

But before I get it... I was wondering if anyone have tried before?

Is the quality good on the plasma?

Cause I heard some people say that the movie will play nicely on the plasma... but the icons and words will be blurry...

Is it true?

Cause if it is.. then I won't be needing to buy it ... as it don't serve the whole purpose already..

Thanks in advance for advices... and comments..

DVD or Online downloaded High Def Movie

So I was just thinking....

I realise that now there's quite a lot of HIGH DEFINATION movies and series to download from the internet. each file ranges from 4Gb to 22gb.
So I was thinking that if I put this file into a external juke box drive and connect it to my High Def LCD to play.

How will the quality like? I know when I watch on My 22" LCD monitor, it look way much nicer... but if I use this juke box to stream it into my TV, will the quality in term of picture and sound be better then DVD's?

DVD's also can control normal audio to DTS...

Comments pls...

Thanks
