I am planning to upgrade my current rig which is running on Core2Quad. Actually at first I planned to go for AMD, but after several read up on their current roadmap and review for their current CPU, I am quite disappointed with their result. Although AMD board and CPU are cheaper as in performance per dollar for FX-8350, but I doubt that their current 990FX chipset with AM3+ socket would be able to support their future Steamroller or Excavator. Or maybe these CPU roadmap might been already terminated by AMD as of now they are only focusing on their APU architecture.
As for the latest Intel Haswell architecture CPU, is actually not much performance improvement from the previous Ivy-Bridge. They only improved it on the power consumption and the integrated Intel Graphic. We can see their this latest generation Intel CPU are focused for mobile usage, but they changed the CPU socket quite often for Intel. If I were to upgrade to Intel system, then I can only afford the Haswell i5 with a midrange Z78 chipset motherboard. Then after 1.5 year Intel will release new CPU with different socket again. So will be wasting another board for upgrade.
If I were to go for the AMD FX-8350 with 8-cores and 990FX chipset motherboard, then the performance will be somewhere above i5 and below i7. But in future I still might have chances to upgrade to newer Steamroller CPU with the same CPU socket. As AMD are not changing their socket so often as Intel does.
I am kind of in dilemma which to choose from... Intel or AMD? If AMD then I can gain a bit advantage with their chipset for my AMD graphic as I wont be using NVidia graphic in near future. Got a feeling like the current Haswell is kind of cheating consumers and AMD is kind of hopeless. Or is it now is not a good time to upgrade? Should I just stay with my current rig?

Setting up Riger DB102 with 5-Port Switch

I am trying to setup my home network using Streamyx Riger DB102 with a 5-Port Switch with 2 PC. I am setting the Riger to Routing mode with the settings Bridging, WAN to WAN Bridging, BRAS, ZIPB all disabled. No idea what are those last 3 modes.
Both of the PC are able to communicate which each other if i manually set the IP, but not able to ping the gateway which is the modem itself. DHCP server is currently enabled from the modem.
At first, 1 PC was able to be assigned with IP automatically from the modem but now totally cant. A direct connection from PC to the modem is working fine.
Is there any specific settings i missed out there? Is anyone able to setup their Riger with switch?

How to make an appeal for traffic summons?

That day i just get my 1st summon for "kesalahan salah tapak".

Anybody here made an appeal for discount before for their traffic summons? What is the procedure?
From last time I know they can just discount easily. But now they said need to write a proper letter and then talk to the inspector at Traffic Department HQ.

So is there any format of writing the letter of appeal?? They discount according to the seriousness of the offence right?
