Transfer of windows/Office to another HDD

Hi guys,

Recently, my parents computer had some difficulties starting up and we've brought it to Bespoint (ViewNet service centre) for a check and was advised that the problem lies with the new HDD (there's two HDD as one was added from the old computer).

They don't provide any back up services and we are required to send the HDD for warranty/checks. My parents need the computer for their work as such, I would like enquire whether:

1. The new HDD partition is for C and D drive where windows and most programmes are installed on. Can I transfer the files/programmes such as Microsoft Office over to the old drive partition. I've heard that cloning can help with this issue but only if the size of the HDD being transferred to is larger. Unfortunately, the old HDD is about 200-300 GB where as the new HDD is 1 TB.

2. Secondly, will the transfer affect any registration key for windows and microsoft office.

Any advise? Thanks!

Need help RM1.3-RM1.5k rig for parents

Hi guys as per topic, need to build a rig for my parents. Main usage is for surfing the net, storing lots of photos and watching some movie or youtube.

Preferably parts that I can get all from Viewnet or all in one shop in lowyat.

Can suggest a good external hard disk for back up purposes. WD or Seagate?

Sifus, need some help in replacing my old Samsung monitor. It's been a long time since I changed one so kinda blur right now. Mainly using it to watch movies, surf net and a bit of gaming. GPU is HD6770 if you need to know.

I've read a bit in LCD thread and from what I gathered a lot of them are using Dell or AOC. Is it cos it's cheaper or are they really that good? Sorry, cos nvr heard much of AOC before.

I'm planning to get a 21.5" or a 23" if budget permits. Any recommendations?

Option 4 (Cycom) : Asus P8P67 LE, Lite-on 24x, CM extreme 400w

I read around the forum that FSP Hexa 500w is a better PSU than CM extreme and most chose Lite-on as the dvdrw. Can i know whether it makes a lot of difference and which mobo I should settle for. Hope to get some advice on what to buy as I'm going tmr to get it.
