Wooden Parquet Floor Damage

Hello All,

I need advise here on my wooden parquet floor. I have moved in my house about 10 moths and my parquet floor started to have issue 2 months ago.

I bought this house as 2nd owner and the house have been empty for 5 years prior our stay. It's a 2.5 storey house and we did a major renovation to the Ground floor and we thought the parquet wooden floor at 1st & 2nd floor conditions were good so we only did scaling and polishing to restore the color.

As you can see from the picture below, this is the current issue i am facing. This is my 1st floor guest room, the parquet floor next to toilet started to buckling and we have the there were no water leakage from the toilet (my contractor check the water proofing before we move in and he claimed that it still ok, need not to worry about water leakage issue).

This is my master bedroom, the parquet floor in font the master bedroom toilet were curling up and it has been expanded from the front to side of the toilet.

So far all the affected areas were next to toilet and i don't have any exhaust fan in the toilet.

Can any expert here suggest a solutions for me? I would like to fix it but my main-con doesn't pick up my call any more while i have tried to find some other guy, they have 2 suggestion to me,

- to remove all the parquet infront of toilet and redo into tiles or
- to redo the parquet floor but need to know the rootcause of this parquet floor curling up first if not it will come back

Do you think there is a hidden water leakage underneath the parquet floor that we won't notice? Which solution is the best to redo the parquet floor or change to tiles? Is it due to no exhaust fan and the humidity from hot shower causing the parquet floor damage? Or any other more economy solutions as both suggest above required some budget from my side (tentatively RM 2-5K).

Hi All,

I am currently renovating my house and my wireman ask me to change my house 3 phase distribution box to newer one even my house is already using 3 phase distribution box.

Is this necessary? Or he just trying to make some money?
He keep telling me my DB is quite old but my house to be honest just 7-8 years old and no one use it before.

The DB he charging me is 1500 inclusive hager fuse.
I need to feedback to him soon as he don wan to start before I confirm this.

Hi,

Recently i got an offer at Damansara Perdana - Perdana Exclusive.
979 sf, fully furnished with fridge, washing machine, plaster ceiling, kitchen cabinet, sofa, dining table, bedroom setx1 (ikea).
Overall the view is good (pool view) and i quite like the layout.
But the asking price is 348k... i felt that was bit overprice...
Anyway, i am buying for my ownstay... but most of my fren ask me to hold as the apartment is quite old to them and thy don feel it worth tat much.
I need some opinion. I personally quite ok but this is my 1st house, 1st time buying hse, i need some advice before i make decision.

Anyone heard of this Wax before - Syoss Tu-Re Design Controller Hard Fruity Wax?
It's the best wax among all i tried before,
I guess you can only get it from Monsoon-id hair saloon,
but unfortunate they discontinue this product last year.
