What are the disadvantages of modified 4G router?

kheechun — Tue, 24 Jan 2023 12:55:55 +0800

Hi, I currently have unlimited hotspot plan from Maxis. I'm trying to put a sim card into a 4G/5G modem so that I get WiFi at home without draining my phone battery. A search in online shopping sites showed many unlocked/modified modems. May I know if there is any disadvantage of these unlocked/modified modems compared to the original ones?
Will there be speed and stability issue especially?

Need recommendation for inkjet colour printer

kheechun — Wed, 15 Sep 2010 10:03:39 +0800

Hi, I’m looking for a new colour inkjet printer, but not sure if I should get those with separate colour inks or all colours in one cartridge. Any recommendations? Is it more cost effective to get those with separate colour cartridge?
Any recommendations for the brand?
Thanks

Disable Automatic Restart After Windows Updates

kheechun — Mon, 09 Aug 2010 08:40:51 +0800

Have you guys ever find that you're downloading something large/converting huge files/defragging/brute forcing, leaving it overnight hoping for it to complete yet the next morning all you see is a Windows login screen? Thanks to Windows Update autorestart, I've been annoyed by it many times. Don't get me wrong here, I like Windows Update, and I think it's necessary, just that I think this autorestart function should be disabled. And here is how:
Start/Run > gpedit.msc > Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > No auto-restart with logged on users for scheduled automatic updates installations
Open the setting by double clicking, and choose Enable.
Now the restart request will still show up, but it won't be automatically executed without your permission

I got the instructions from this article:
