Doorbell recommendation for multi floor

Hi, i am looking for wireless doorbell that works for multiple floors, that if the doorbell is pressed, people on the ground floor, 1st floor and second floor can hear it.

I need a multi receiver/ bell link to 1 transmitter type, not the 1 receiver super loud type.

currently i tested some generic ones, all of them not working or intermittently working on even just 1st floor.

I cant do the hardwire ones because i am not the building owner, so wireless ones would be the choice.

https://www.honeywellhome.com/products/seri...=43065178587238
i found this honeywells by google around, seems like able to pair more units, and having a good range, but cant find a shop selling it here, if anyone knows where i can buy it, or other brands with great coverage, please do drop the comments

Thanks in advance

Don’t tarnish IIUM rector’s reputation

QUOTE

PETALING JAYA: An independent scholar has criticised the management of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) for apparently failing to take action against lecturer Solehah Yaacob, whose comments allegedly damaged the reputation of the university and its rector, Osman Bakar.

Sharifah Munirah Alatas said Osman, IIUM’s seventh rector, is a globally respected scholar, and cautioned against tarnishing his or the university’s reputation with baseless claims.

“Many admire Osman Bakar, both within Malaysia and internationally. His appointment as rector last year was a significant step forward for Malaysia’s public higher education under the Madani government,” Munirah said in a statement.

“Yet, the top management at IIUM has not taken serious action to stop this person from spewing nonsense and bringing disrepute to the profession. She surfaced last year to embarrass, and she is doing so again this year.

“I do not want inept professors to tarnish the university’s name so publicly, freely, and without remorse,” she added.

Munirah welcomed comments by higher education minister Zambry Abdul Kadir and IIUM’s academic staff association (ASA), both calling for disciplinary action against the lecturer for breaching academic standards.

She noted that ASA had made a similar call in September 2024 after the same lecturer made questionable remarks on another historical matter.

“However, despite these statements, this errant lecturer continues to make unsubstantiated claims, further embarrassing the academic community. It is now up to IIUM to exercise its autonomy and clean up the mess,” she said.

A video of Solehah, an Arabic language lecturer, claiming that the Romans learned shipbuilding from the Malays has gone viral. She was believed to have made the remarks in response to the discovery of a 13th-century shipwreck near Pulau Melaka last Friday.

Zambry said university lecturers should remain within their areas of expertise and avoid making claims beyond their specialisation.

He added that professors should serve as credible reference points for society, similar to specialist doctors who provide opinions only within their respective fields.

IIUM’s academic staff association also urged the university’s management to take firm action against academics whose conduct or public statements breach ethical, professional, or academic standards, Malaysiakini reported.

https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/...on-says-scholar

But prof kangkung cable besar nobody can touch her.

How to block all type of installation

Good afternoon everyone,

recently we experience wps office automatically installing itself,

the user is on normal acc, no admin rights, the installation doesn't require admin rights, it doesn't even need user to start installation by clicking installer, it just install itself

even if user accidentally click some link, it should have just downloaded the installer and shouldn't auto run itself.

it took over microsoft office and when we try to uninstall it, it ask for admin password.

How can i set for every installation must require admin rights? meaning i want block all such installation without admin permission.

and how can i prevent such program from acquiring admin rights, when they installed without admin right?

Thanks in advance

edit: found some other similar complaints, and seems like not much answer is available
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/q...ault-pdf-viewer
https://www.reddit.com/r/WindowsHelp/commen...s_in_my_system/
https://superuser.com/questions/1729819/how...mpany-computers

for the last one it include some web link block in eu, i would prefer to just set a group policy if possible to disable all installation without admin rights, and to protect the admin rights from being accessed by the program. it seems like a loop hole that a program can install without admin and then gain the admin access afterwards.

how to transfer CCTV harddisk

Good morning fellow forummers,

From the cctv hdd thread last time, i have decided to change to to new larger hdd, just wondering if there is anyway to view the old data?

i am using DH-XVR1B08H model from dahua, i need to view the old data but plugging the hdd directly to computer and it doesn't show the drive. only can view when plug into the cctv box.

can i clone it to the new hdd, plug the new hdd to the system and then view it like normal in the software? since the old hdd doesn't appear when connected to computer, i am not sure how i can achieve the cloning.

due to the limitation of export file, export using the software will result in a lot of manual work and might miss something in the process, i am trying to avoid that.

basically i am trying either transfer data to new hdd and use software to view like normal, or find a way to transfer/convert the hdd or the data so i can view it like normal video. is either of this possible or the only way is to painstakingly use the software to export each camera each day and rename/arrange the files?

CCTV harddisk cache

Good morning,

i am looking to replace the cctv hard drive, i am looking at wd purple series, such as these

https://shopee.com.my/WD-Purple%E2%84%A2-Su...9791.6108934795

beside the capacity, there are also different 64MB, 128MB, 256MB which i found out is the cache size.

I am using 5 camera, running 1080 reso, 1 unit is 24 hours recording, the other 4 are on motion detection mode.

Do i need to choose a large cache? or is there any requirements such as high reso will need more cache or more camera unit will need more cache?

Thanks in advance

Unable to use google sign in for lazada

Good morning everyone,

so today i was checking lazada and try to login with google account, but google prompt that it is accessing sensitive info and blocked it.

[attachmentid=11484422]

i search around and it seems like it is related to a less secure apps setting, which is not available for me because i have enabled 2 step verification.

and then i also saw a security checkup issue, which show that lazada firebase is unverified developer.

[attachmentid=11484421]

I tried with firefox and chrome, both can not access, and i tried another google account which does not have 2 step verification, it actually log in successfully in browser. Is this a bug with google 2 step verification? Since lazada is still listed in playstore, i am not sure why google sees it as unverified developer, maybe it's license or some kind of agreement expired?

Is there any way to login other than disable the 2 step verification?

Thanks

Vga monitor problem

Hi everyone, i am trying to connect a desktop to a main screen, and a second cable to a vga selector which then out put to projector, so that i can plug a laptop and use the selector to choose a source between laptop or desktop.

So this desktop has a amd hd 8470 with 1 dvi and 1 hdmi port. If i connect the main monitor to hdmi port, and then the selector to dvi port, it doesn't display anything on both. If i switch them as such that monitor to dvi and selector to hdmi then both works.

Both the monitor and the selector are vga, so i use a dvi to vga converter and a hdmi to vga converter to connect them. I was wondering why they only work in a specific way? Both converters output vga, but the hdmi one can't output to monitor and dvi converter can't output to selector, if flipped they both display properly. Is there some setting or characteristics of the ports that i miss out?
