UPDATE 15 OCT : Can start re applying now though the site still quite buggy. Their server sometimes up sometimes down like a yoyo. Everybody that receive STR need to re applying again including those bujang category. Although bujang won't get STR for 2026... SARA 2026 for RM50 monthly are tied the these new STR re applying. Make sure you re applying till received notice permohonan di terima.

Suggestion for motorcycle section.

I noticed Lowyat have a section for Car For Sale under classified and also Automotives in Garage Sales which help greatly for car users.
But there's no section for motorcycles. May i suggest admin to include a new motorcycles section in Garage Sales section which can be use to sell/buy a motorcycle and also motorcycle spare parts. It can be either brand new or second hands items. I believe there are many forummer that have and use motorcycle daily.

Rear Drum Brake

Want to ask is it normal for 6 months old Honda Wave Dash 110 need to change rear drum brake pads? I use it for daily short ride to work around 15km daily. Past two days the rear brake start give squeaking noise and sometime it feel stuck. Today go to check and found that the brake pads already thinning and decided to change it.
The mechanic told me rear drum brake pads can tahan 4 - 6 months only. Is it true?

Your phone or tablet have charging problem and thinking maybe it got usb/charging port spoilt so you send it to service centre. Few days later you receive a quotation call from them.

"Good morning Sir, our technician have check your phone/tablet and it seem your charging port need to be replace. And your motherboard
also rosak and need to be change. Altogether it will cost you RM860 excluding labour charge of RM35.!"

Your jaw hang open and you scratch your head. Last thing your remember was the phone/tablet only have charging problem. Now they said it also need a heart surgery. Sound familiar.? Especially to those who already lapse their warranty...be very careful when you received this type of news.

On 16th April my Note 8.0 cannot be charge until the battery died by itself. Since before this it happened a few times already, I send it to service centre for checking. A few days later I received a call stating that my usb port AND motherboard need to be replace. Since it will cost me nearly RM900 for the Note 8.0 that I bought at only RM850 for a brand new one (last price before Samsung stop Note 8.0 production), I bring the big paperweight home.

After a few days see the big white paperweight sitting on the table, I decided to try resurrect it myself. I bought a set of usb port from Lelong.com that cost me RM35 (including postage) and I start cracking the Note 8.0 open. Guide from Youtube on how to change the usb port, I manage to do it without much problem.

Since the tablet dried without any battery juice, I let it charge for a few minutes first. Then I saw the big battery icon appear on the dark screen..! After half an hour I power on my resurrected Note 8.0 and found that it working back faultlessly until this very day.

So to those that have the same problem and receive the same response from service centre as I am, please think twice before you accept their service. Unless you really sure that your motherboard have problem, reject their offer and get outside opinion or help first.
