Yeah they're like Rakuten or whatever as in they'll hold them on your behalf but you still own the shares instead of CFDs for US stocks. You can google that shit since they launched that feature last month and some blogs like Dividend Magic have detailed articles on it. Trading 212 is better for fractional shares since you can invest even $1 and buy 0.01 shares which is significantly better for small-time DCA since you can split up your deposit to more companies. They don't have US ETFs though unless you use the margin account. Problem is they only accept active passports as proof of ID whereas your license is good enough for eToro. Service is also dogshit slow thanks to Wuhan and many wannabe WSB autists signing up. Dunno how long I pusing trying to validate my account only to have them reject my IC/Driving License and expired Passport over a month long period. The Pros over eToro is that they're way more legit from what I've seen. They don't allow you to deposit unless you're verified whereas eToro was like, bitch gimme some money to process your verification faster (pretty much what their email and CS said) and allowed you to deposit after registration which is dodgy af.

eToro trades are by default set to use leverage is which is also dodgy if you're not paying attention or used to it. Plus the spread I talk about makes it hard to time buy/sells since based on share price since their "fee" is built into that and you'll see a price discrepancy when trading. All of it is reflected in their platform but for example GE SP is $7.88 on market and you're trying to grab more shares but you'll see a sell price of 7.86 and buy of $7.89. As long as you make more than 0.09% then it's not really a big deal unless you're some autist trying to max out every cent. Also eToro doesn't really do fractional shares since the minimum trade is $50. If you're buying Amazon then yeah you'll get a fractional share but for companies that have shares worth under $50, that's kinda dogshit. Trading212 lets you make $1 trades rather than $50. But the bad thing is T212 for some reason removed access to US ETFs from their real money trading accounts even though their margin accounts can still buy them

Labor Costs for Perodua Viva/General Labor Costs

I just want to know if the price I got quoted is fair. The guy said it's RM500 all in to change the timing belt and water pump for the perodua viva, I can probably save costs by buying the parts myself but then he quoted me RM300 for water pump + timing belt labor or RM200 for just the timing belt labor. I asked how long it'd take for just the timing belt and he said 3-4 hours. So essentially he's charging roughly RM50/hour. From looking up a diagram it looks like the water pump is in the same area as the timing belt, meaning you need to take both off anyway. I watched Scotty Kilmer do it for another car where they're both also integrated so I'm not sure why he's charging the extra hundred for something he needs to remove anyway. It sounds quite pricey to me but I haven't had a chance to survey around the other mechanics nearby since it's pretty late. I can probably delay it until next week but I'm hoping to get the repairs done by tomorrow so I can balik CNY in relative safety since it's been making thumping noises (thought it was a flat tire, sounds like rubber slapping) for months now only when I'm driving home from work at night and screeching noises recently. Only managed to pinpoint the issue to the timing belt in the past week. I don't want to state the race (same as my own) but let me just say I have pretty negative experiences so far with them in multiple incidents so I tend to be cautious when it comes to them. Only mechanic I actually trust to not tab on extra costs on unnecessary parts and repairs is in Melaka and I'm not sure the car would survive the trip there. He's a bit pricey but I trust that Indian mechanic to get the diagnosis correct (100% so far, even on shit I didn't realize were causing the issues I was facing) so I don't have a problem with going to him but alas he's pretty far from where I live now
