WTA: Asus Eeepc 1008p netbook haz issue

I got a Asus EeePC 1008P Karim Rashid collection seashell netbook in April 2010.

barely 18 months later (aug 2011) it cannot detect my charger.

on the next day, I sent it to Asus customer service in nearby Imbi, the customer service officer claimed that it is battery problem. I told him, I just finished using the two batteries cell I had like less than 10 hours ago. So it cannot be a battery issue.

Then he tried plug in the power adapter, no light come out. and straight away say this could be a motherboard problem. RM 700+ to change motherboard. I disagreed and took it back home =(

I wonder if RM700+ to fix it is worth it or not. I know new netbook cost around RM1K+, but I really love my brown seashell limited edition netbook. =(

any alternative for this matter?
do you guys think it is reasonable to pay RM700 for that?

what say you?
